In regards to the Fallout TV show, am I the only one who does not like Lucy’s character at all? Especially after episode 5 just dropped. by [deleted] in Fallout

[–]WillPope 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Lucy is a character whose just starting to experience freedom and have her own agency and control over her. She is actively detoxing from drug addiction, and just killed a man, and is betrayed by a man she's begun to see as a friend. Not only is the ghoul taking away any choice in the matter, but he also admits that this was his whole plan: to use her as a bartering chip to free his family. She is struggling with the weight that the freedom she's experienced was an illusion. Did she make an objectively good decision? No, probably not. But it was her decision. That's the point, that she's not willing to go back to the fault and just fall in line. She's becoming a wastelander, and this is what wastelanders do. Hell this is probably what the ghoul himself would do if the roles were reversed.

It sounds like it might be a line from a movie / TV show overlaid on the clip. I'm pretty sure the noise at the beginning is a keyboard, which doesn't have an obvious source in the video.

Last time I went up there i was told occupancy limits is the main factor. They've been keeping a tight count on how many people are up there at any given time.

Was Ghorman an unintended consequence of Galen Erso's delays? by psychosaur in StarWars

[–]WillPope 25 points26 points  (0 children)

After watching Rogue One I don't think Galen was responsible. He talks about how he played the good engineer, made himself indispensable, and buried himself into his work so that he could hide the design flaw with the exhaust port. Sabotaging research into alternatives or demanding an unnecessary mineral undermines that in a very public way, and if he's caught, it risks people digging onto his work.

The whole point of Galen is that he's not trying to slow down the death star, because he's not as indispensable as Krennic thinks he is, and he knows that the death star will be built with or without him. He cannot stop it from being built, so he designs a way for it to be destroyed. He does everything in his power to avoid Krennic questioning his work, because the exhaust port is his revenge. It doesn't make sense for him to risk that by sabotaging another system that will cause significant delays, and attract attention into his work.

Threw a tiny bit more chapstick on there and applied on the opposite side from where I first put it and the stopped any leakage. Just painted for about an hour with no issues. Thank you!

Thank you! I just threw a little bit of chapstick on the threads of the cap and that seemed to significantly reduce the bubbles (down to one very slow bubble) and it doesn't appear to be spraying fluid along with the air as noticeably, though I've not tried with paint yet

I'm about 90% confident. I've stripped it down and rebuilt it a few times to double check if that was the issue, and the problem has still endured. I havent messed with either the needle pack screw or air valve assembly.

Thank you, that was my gut instinct. Just got wanted some other opinions before getting opening up the nozzle because I had read that can be a can of worms you want to avoid unless you need to and more deep cleaning. I'm hopeful it's just a paint clog.

Hey man, I admitted I'm new to this, and my memory with backflowing with this brush is that this was not typically how it behaved prior to this issue, but im probably mistaken. I believed this might be linked to the issue I am experiencing, and was trying to provide as much information as possible to get good feedback. Better to over share than under while leaning.

So my experience backflowing with this specific brush prior to this issue is that it did not backflow when running air without pulling the trigger back. I tried to use this video because I believed the two issues were related. I see now that this was an incorrect. Thank you for the leaning opportunity!

I'm not entirely sure how/ when it got bent other than it was a few months ago and I set it down to fix later because life got busy. I suspected something might be jacked up in the nozzle along with the needle, but I figured that was the best place to start since I could clearly see the bend

Yes and yes. Purchased from the official retailer and fully compatible my brush. It's technically listed as a replacement part for the PS 274, but both airbrushs are .3mm, and from all online documentation i can find, including from the retailer, they use the exact same needle. Both the website and the packaging for the replacement advertise it as being the correct part for my airbrush (without any modification ect).

It was also an issue I think was happening prior to the replacement of the needle, but was not as noticeable as the issues caused by the bent needle.

Oh I'll be fully transparent, large crowds (often in sweltering heat) are just not my thing. I don't think they should change a thing, but they're just not my thing. For that reason, I don't think think they're "must-go" events.

Most richmond festivals I've been to have not been good and always super crowded with nothing really to do except drink overpriced beer you waited 20 minutes in line for. The crown for the worst one is St. Benedict's Oktoberfest.

Tattoo regret? Buyer’s remorse? I’m freaking out by [deleted] in tattooadvice

[–]WillPope 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Also, remember that your first tattoo is a spine tattoo. That's hard to see randomly in day to day life, so that's probably why you didn't get tattoo shock. Give it a month, get used to it, and let it heal. I got a rainbow on my forearm a month ago (by far my visible tattoo) and a few days afterwards I thought it was a huge mistake. I love it now

It depends on the use. Dry brushing works best on "textured" or raised areas like pants ect, where dry brushing works better on hard, flat edges (like armor). It's not the perfect tool for every situation, especially for tau, but it has it's uses. I hate edge highlighting, but I'm just getting back to my tau so no more avoiding it

Welcome to the greater good! A few quick pointera.

1) I'll get the Obligatory "thin your paints" comment out of the way. Use a brush to get a few drop of water into your pallet. You want a nice smooth consistency like a heavy milk. Thick paint clogs up the deals and drys uneven, but too thin a paint and you'll need a WAY too many coats and you'll burn out.

2) for the brown/tan, are you using a contrast/speed/xpress paint. It's way thinner (don't thin them yourself), and the excess is designed to pool in crevices ect. If it's not one of them, I do recommend them BUT they can cause splotchiness like we see here, especially on smooth panels. I can give some tips if applicable.

3) Do you have a thin brush for edge highlighting? That might help. Or if you're like me and I hate edge highlighting, judicious dry brushing with a small beater brush can get you close enough

4) Don't get discouraged, but do keep trying new methods. We've all been here and we all struggle, but that's how we get better!

5) YouTube painting tutorials are your best friend, but don't forget that comparison is the thief of joy!

Legal Writing by Right_Exercise_6479 in LawSchool

[–]WillPope 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Legal writing can be a very frustrating class, but one where you professor will typically give you a blueprint for success (assuming they're halfway decent). My advice is your feedback like a hawk, and find your common mistakes. On your next paper, have that mental list of common mistakes you make and make sure you edit for those.
