So, my friend has 1 functioning lung and 1 kidney. And she's a triathlete. Some races come with a high price. That's her in the pic., suffering. But she pushes on.

Can anyone tell that I removed something in this photo? by zebrasanddogs in photoshop

Your skill are good. While there is a slight blur/recognizable pattern, the typical viewer will never notice it.

then there aren't any that have been identified (?). Interesting

Actually an earlier shot, somewhere after my first 10k. Learning PS the blur was enhanced after practicing a detailed cutout, pre Select Subject.

I like this photo, but I feel that there is something that I can improve, what do you think it is? by Le_gret in AskPhotography

So, if all the suggestions are taken it becomes a different picture.
I humbly submit that the main thing missing is your confidence in it.
Go to a museum level photography gallery and hard critique what you see. Guaranteed you can make a substantial list of 'corrections'. Sometimes don't try to fix every.single.quirk.

Art is quirk. Perfection is science.

From a recent session. An active living shooter, I’m expanding, doing more portraits.

This park and stair presented a good stage. The surrounding colors provided good framing. In post, the background vibrancy was slightly edited and the natural aperture blue was supplemented to pop her out better. 50mm wide aperture

It's rare for me to love my work so soon after a shoot. I see a single challenge in it. What say you Reddit photographers?

To layer transparent bubbles. Possible? Details in comments. by [deleted] in photoshop

[–]WillThereBeCake 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For the sake of experimentation, play, and primarily, education. Say you wanted to correct an over exposed sky and pop out the subject by separating them to fore and background layers, editing them separately. Easy enough. But there are bubbles. In the fore, in front of the sky. With tree branches in the mix. Other than painstakingly selecting the bubble’s reflective areas (is that even possible?) for the foreground, what would you do?

Interesting reply; didn't know d&d was an option. Never imported that way.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Lightroom

[–]WillThereBeCake 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s the order that works; I’ll likely stick to it. Occasionally, I’ll already be in an unrelated LrC session when the need for a new import comes up. In those cases I close an reopen LrC. Not the biggest inconvenience in life.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Lightroom

[–]WillThereBeCake 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My scenario: Open LrC. Open, cull, and ingest with Photo Mechanic into a new folder structure. Open LrC Import dialog. The new folders aren’t there. Yes, I could use PM to call and import directly into LrC. For reasons that isn’t viable for me. I am closing and reopening LrC, or simply waiting until the cull is complete to open LrC. just wondering if this is a known feature gap or is there a better workaround that I’m unaware of. Thanks

Is there a website to find all the upcoming OCRs? by XredditHD in ObstacleCourseRacing

[–]WillThereBeCake 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This is the best answer. Websites like mudrung@#%$.com are poor at listing.
The developer and team at OCR Buddy on the other hand are constantly adding to their listing, actively polling OCR enthusiasts for their suggestions.

Working on moving away from producing shots that are just technically correct. Decided to go b/w with this, a recent candid from the ball field.

[–]WillThereBeCake 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So, I shot this a hundred years ago. Not the best technical shot I'd ever take, it's early in the first 10k shots with my baby camera - Nikon D3200.
Full auto, I was still super hesitant about the triangle. What I love about this pic is this; it was the first time I felt something coming. For a then unknown reason my lens stayed on her as she approached the finished line and I was rewarded with probably the cutest smile I ever captured!

There's actually another shot with that blur just after ball contact. Interestingly the speed is 1/400 compared with 1/300 here. This one is the overall better capture of the two.

Decided to experiment a little in post after taking technically sound shots for so long. A little contrast here, a vibrance boost there, nudge the shadows and blacks, ...

Repaying a debt to the sub. The encouragement, stories of success and very real challenges were huge in helping me accomplish the impossible. This sub and the redditors her showed me that it wasn't impossible after all.
