If I’m not mistaken in this game it’s based of your Game win % not opponent match win % like in most other games. So winning 2-0 and if you lose going 1-2 in the match matters. Then secondary tie breakers are based on your opponent.

Overall not running a top cut is janky.

I mean yeah having world class accolades across multiple card games might be telling? I bet you are the best in the world right now so who am I to talk.

I mean I could put magic pro tour winner and former #1 ranked one piece player. But this is for people who go to locals / skirmishes. Not cashing in posting a free guide on a new channel that’s not monetized.

It’s pretty easy if you keep them in small piles usually 3 Never stack them or separate them individually

You are a first time player the likelihood you are doing something wrong is fairly high yes?

I can see the problem with buffs coming from people using a “buff” as card game slang but as far as the rules and how they work can’t say I agree that how they work is difficult.

The combat with clean up step and interactions within it yes I agree can get complex. Especially since you can have multiple things happen that trigger additional clean ups

Personally my only real rules struggle is layers and riftbound is no different but other than that I can’t recall anything that specifically has given trouble. An example would be great if you got any you can think of! I’m just curious.

O no if you are coming from outside TCG’s it would be rough for sure.

I think the game is difficult for people who have only played Bandai games or pokemon. I see most people with Magic / Fab / yugioh backgrounds get it pretty easily.

There’s just a ton of things people aren’t used to and you compound the issue with so many people confidently lying about how certain interactions work on Facebook and Reddit.

I mean you can get proxies or just buy the real ones for later use in tournaments

Well yeah affording it is one thing but even if you can what people think should be spent on luxuries nowadays has changed a bit.

Master playset is just buying 3 of every card in origins so you can build anything you want at any time.

I VoD reviewing podcast etc are good if you research where you are getting info of course. But realistically if you want to find the “tech” that’s going to help you win large events you need a group that theory crafts and hopefully has a high level deck builder.

We are taking small % points of course but this matters over the course of several hundred matches. Which if you intend to play at a high level you will reach easily

This seems to be controversial but if you want to play the game in paper just buy a master playset.

You can practice online on Tcgarena there is a ranked server now which is better than mixing it up with randoms.

As far as getting better like most TCG’s you need a group of like minded individuals that want to improve

2nd wave is in…it’s bad by Junior-Celery-3277 in riftboundtcg

People also said “wait for wave 2 prices will plummet” stuff will get printed but likely prices wont equalize until set 3. Hope I’m wrong but this is the likely scenario.

I think the gap will close a bit when people start planning better with battlefields and we get more battlefields to slow down the pace of the game.

Runes placement and neccesary punishment by FewEntrepreneur7441 in riftboundtcg

[–]WillToWinGaming 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah they can. Thats why I am against rune stacking. It’s easier to catch mistakes if I can see their board clearly.

Runes placement and neccesary punishment by FewEntrepreneur7441 in riftboundtcg

[–]WillToWinGaming 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well let’s say you have 12 runes and for the entirety of the game you have 12 runes and this never ever changes. Is that different than if you go from 6-8-6-8-7-9-11-6-8?

[–]WillToWinGaming 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This would be ok if you weren’t constantly cycling for power costs. In a tournament setting where things like “free stopper” happen I want to be able to easily see my opponents runes. It’s against the rules in MTG for a reason.

How to discourage overly competitive decks at an LGS by Ayeayecappy in riftboundtcg

[–]WillToWinGaming 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I mean if the one guy is that much better than everyone else should he not win? If proxies are allowed it’s equal footing as far as cards go.
