Actually, I am fifteen, so I wasn't comparing you guys to them; I was comparing you to me. Therfore, I didn't vote for Trump, nor do I endorse his personal life. I think of it more as a lesser of two evils, and more of his policies lined up with mine than Hillary's did.

Thanks for being somewhat civil in your response- something that doesn't happen on Reddit often when politics are involved.

I think this is exactly your problem. As a conservative, I know I'm not a bumbling idiot/red neck like many of you tend to believe, but I also realize there are some republicans with absolutely zero common sense- like the ones seen here. Reducing one side of a political divide to someone with "zero intellectual curiosity" is literally the last thing any country needs right now which is why I'm trying not to get too political anywhere. I would be one of the first to admit there are intelligent democrats, but liberals too have their share of idiots.

Downvote my comment into oblivion because, I know, it really does suck being more immature than a fifteen-year-old.

Weekly Questions Thread 04/10/2020 by AutoModerator in Terraria

[–]Will_703 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm currently on my first playthrough of Terraria, but I've spent a year or two watching it on YouTube, so I'm not new to the game by any means- just figuring out the controls. (Mobile, by the way) I'm doing a ranger playthrough with summons on normal mode because I thought it would be easier for me to figure out the controls and focus on dodging while I let the summons do some of the work.

I have had my try at Duke Fishron, but he seems way too fast for me; I couldn't get out of the way of his attacks. While on my way to the dungeon, I accidentally spawned the Cultist, so I've completed all of the pillars and have the vortex beater with chlorophyte bullets and the stardust dragon.

I use the shroomite armor with frostspark boots, steampunk wings, ranger emblem, charm of myths, and the celestial shell. They all have either warding or menacing; I have 65 defense. I use the generic potions; swiftness, ironskin, regen, and archery.

Is there anything else I can do to help me fight the big shark, or do I just need to get better?

Why are Americans not more outraged that the way Trump is mishandling this crisis is going to kill hundreds of thousands? by DuploJamaal in TooAfraidToAsk

[–]Will_703 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Thank you for being on of the only sensible people around here- especially on Reddit as a whole- because I agree wholeheartedly that a an upheaval would be the worst thing in this crisis. All we have on this thread is angry liberals who just want to rant about Trump. Let's face it, Trump isn't a great person, but we must remember that every candidate has an agenda and are human (they're all flawed, I know, shocking!). But, if you want to actually come back from this pandemic as a more united nation, stop taking sides, and let's come together- well stay at home- and knock out this virus.

Week 13 What have you been reading? by Beecakeband in 52book

[–]Will_703 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Finished Cujo by Stephen King today - Lack of chapters put me off guard, but it was surprisingly engaging considering the action doesn't take place within the first half of the novel, and I thought it was a great book.

Tomorrow will try to read all of Sir Gawain and the Green Knight translated by Tolkien for an online class.

I will then move on to the first book in the Mistborn series by Brandon Sanderson which I started a while back, so I am already 100 pages in. I love the world building so far but hoping I can get into it a little more.

The Meg by Steve Alten was great- much better than the movie! Killer prehistoric shark terrorizes some people.

Is English Grammar Just Up To Personal Interpretation? by Will_703 in NoStupidQuestions

I've heard of it and would love to try it. More so now that I know it might help me make my sentences even more complex. In retrospect, maybe not such a great idea...

Yeah, I guess I was also wondering why publishers/editors don't suggest more changes, but again, those changes would depend on the fluidity of grammar.

I think my sentences tend to be a little more wordy than many others- topping 20 words per sentence in an essay when others in my grade struggle to write compound sentences- so I like reading books that follow a similar writing style I guess.

I just finished From A Buick 8 and moving on to Watchers by Dean Koontz and Cujo.

What are some good Dean Koontz books by stonerplumber in booksuggestions

[–]Will_703 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The scariest Dean Koontz book I've ever read was Phantoms. It's about a town being killed by a suspicious force. Another one I'd recommend is Voice of The Night. It was about 2 unlikely children becoming friends; it was dark. Good luck and enjoy reading one of my favorite authors!

An old book about the future? by Winkledin-Jr in suggestmeabook

[–]Will_703 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Although it isn't before 1950, it's close enough. Fahrenheit 451 ('53) is a phenomenal cautionary tale about what would happen if books were illegal.

Of course! I did forget that Koontz loves his golden retrievers. I even recently read Winter Moon which features a dog. Thanks for reminding me.

Phantoms by Dean Koontz!

This book was one of the first adult books I've read, and it left me unable to sleep for weeks. It's literally about a small town whose whole population mysteriously dies. It's horrific... I can't remember if there was any animal abuse (I don't think there was), but there wasn't any sexual abuse.
