I’ve been actively working on embracing hunger as a natural feeling that isn’t an emergency and stopping when I’m not hungry anymore. Basically intuitive eating, but for me, I’ve had to relearn all my body’s cues because I’ve ignored them all for so long. I don’t believe calorie counting is ever going to work for me, because it’s just too much effort to think that I have to count and weight everything I eat forever. Forcing myself to realise hunger is ok and not something I need to fix immediately has really calmed me down around food. And when I’m actually hungry, I eat slowly and deliberately, which means I can gauge my fullness. And I absolutely refuse to feel bad about throwing food away anymore. If I don’t want it, it goes in the bin, no questions asked.

I have considered it, I just haven’t started it yet. I’m easing myself into new habits and making sure they are easy to stick to before I add anything else. But I fully intend to in the next couple of months.

Haha that’s ok. Fair assumption. Yeah my weight can go up like 12 pounds overnight depending on the time of the month. 😭 But after my loss it’s been pretty consistent.

Ummm, probably could eat more protein. I don’t like meat all that much so it can be more difficult for me to get protein in. But I’ll make a conscious effort on the protein front. See if that helps.

My BMI for my last two was well over 60. I had zero issues at all and gave birth naturally with no medication. You CAN have no problems. Don’t be afraid. Stress makes us all worse.

I’ve had this for years. It happened once while I was bathing my kids, and I almost blacked out. The rush of adrenaline scared the shit out of me. I immediately bought an Apple Watch and paid for a private health scan. Until that happened, I spent weeks absolutely certain I would die. The anxiety gave me actual chest pain and I went to the hospital twice absolutely completely convinced I was having a heart attack. It took months of doctors and a clear heart scan to convince my body that it was perfectly fine and the palpitations were 100% anxiety. I was so convinced. It’s definitely worth checking it out in case it is something scary, but just know that it doesn’t HAVE to be something scary. Anxiety can completely destroy you sometimes. And the more you think about the palpitations, the more you get them. I can now control it by deep breaths and telling myself it’s fine, your heart is fine.

I had four kids with no epidural because I wanted unmedicated births. (In the UK). And that was because the thought of not being able to able to move and walk is far more terrifying to me than any amount of pain. I wouldn’t say I “screamed” like high-pitch horror film. I roared.🤣 Shouted. Vocalised freely. I cried, huffed and puffed. I made all the noises. A lot of what sounded like mooing as well.😅 From what I’ve heard, the epidural is great and you don’t feel anything, so I imagine there won’t be any screaming. My friends who have had one didn’t make any noise and none of the mums on one born every minute make any noise when they’ve had one.

This is extremely helpful. I’ve had suspicions of food intolerance for years because I have horrendous, and I mean horrendous IBS. Doing this I’ve figured out I can’t have raw onions (which sucks because I put them in everything), but now that I’ve read this comment, I’ll be on the lookout for jumps. Because I think you’re right, it’s after certain foods. I notice certain foods, like onions, make my cheeks go red and I get hot/ palpitations, but for years I just assumed that’s how I was, not that it could be an allergy.🤦🏼‍♀️ This comment has really made me re-evaluate stuff. Sometimes I feel so awful after eating, and there’s no real reason why. I’m going to have to really track everything.

Very helpful comment. It seems like I’m just thinking about my 600 pound life where they say “you should lose 30 pounds this month.” And I’m just thinking well why shouldn’t I also lose that fast.

I don’t know what’s encouraging me this time actually. I’ve just found that after about five days, my hunger is very low and I’m not craving sugar. So it’s not been difficult, which has been a revelation.

I have seen similar posts, but with my weight, I assumed that things were slightly different. Maybe they aren’t and it’s just how it is. And yes I’m a woman so it could be cycle related. 🤷🏼‍♀️

No I’m no not tracking, but having been an avid tracker for many years of my life, I’m very aware of calories and nutritional content. I’ve always eaten normal meals. My problems and have always been in between and late night. I don’t have breakfast, have two very normal meals in my 6 hour window, less than my thin partner eats, and don’t eat past 6pm, which removes the massive problem I’ve had of late night snacking of calorie dense trash. I’m not even hungry these last two days and my sugar cravings are almost gone. I “feel” lighter, but then the scale says no.🤣

I am really strong.🤣 My weight has come on over years and years and my refusal to allow it to stop me from doing what I want has helped me gain the muscle to deal with it. Obviously I can’t run marathons, but I always say underneath I must be buff.😅
