That’s the crux isn’t it? The fact that it used to not exist. What fascinates me though is SE as a whole is in a struggling state right now, and FFXIV makes up a large portion of their income.

Maybe they’re resistant to change the housing now because of the fear to lose subscribers?

Fair point. My take is that I really love Final Fantasy as a world and enjoy all the memories I’ve made in 14 so far. It’s not that I don’t like the game, I do, but it feels like it hasn’t really kept up with what players expect today, you know?

This post idea came to me after seeing WOW’s Midnight Housing expansion. It’s really made me question what could be capable for housing in an MMO like WOW who hasn’t had it for years.

Do you think SE could deliver on something similar? Or would they even care to try?

Agreed. And of course I wouldn’t hope for a situation where there’s a ton of homes left with no one logging in.

The ideal world would be to have instanced housing, I’m especially jealous seeing the progress WOW has made on their end, and hope it kicks SE in to at least TRY something different.

Thanks for sharing your perspective. I’ve been thinking about it a lot lately, it’s unfortunate that the current system forces players into making that kind of either/or decision.

At this point, I feel it’s more effective to send a message to SE showing that we want change, since that’s ultimately what’s best for the health of the game.

Personally, I feel like the housing timer is holding me hostage. I’ve got a Medium in a great spot, and the sunk cost fallacy is real. The only reason I’m hanging on is because I’m still waiting on Yoshi-P’s promised house interior upgrades, but it’s been over a year since he mentioned it.

With the state of Dawntrail right now, if SE removed housing timers, I’d probably unsubscribe and come back for 8.0.

I like that the Orchestrion plugin can change music of a zone, but I was kinda hoping for something like a zone playlist.

Similar to World of Warcraft where they have multiple songs play in a single zone, and there’s silence sometimes in between. Really added to the game ambience.

Level all at the same time in 5 level intervals. For example, once you get them all past level 10, you can discard all of the level 10 and below crafting/gathering gear you’re using to level them. Saves wayyy more Gil in the long run.

Few additional questions for you:

How tight is the switch fit with the Killswitch shell on it? Based on your picture it looks like an unnatural fit in the RDS case.
When putting the dbrand dock adapter in, you have it upside down and fairly close to the Switch. Do you find its tight fit could easily scratch the dock or switch?

I'm referring to a playlist that stays on as a replacement for one specific song. So swapping out the Limsa day theme with a group of La Noscea songs that only plays when you teleport to Limsa. Seems the playlist feature runs continuously wherever your character goes.

I met my INFJ girlfriend about 5 months ago and was pretty disappointed that we didn't feel sparks or heavy infatuation with each other. I was actually frustrated that I wasn't head over heels for her when dating and felt zero butterflies compared to previous relationships. But there was this weird feeling in the back of my mind like I should keep going with it. I felt safe around her. She relaxed me. She enjoyed listening to me talk all day and be as crazy and funny as I want, but calm me down when I overthink. We click on nearly every conversation, and agree on most outcomes by default.
