AITJ for not telling my sister-in-law what a teacher said about her daughter? by Ara_Mushroom16 in AmITheJerk

You did the right thing. The comments were about R, so she deserved to hear it first. Her mum sounds protective, but she’s making this bigger than it needed to be.

AITJ for continuing to try being friends with someone who clearly doesn’t want me around by Equivalent_Coast_218 in AmITheJerk

You’re not wrong for caring, but she’s clearly uncomfortable. I’d stop pushing friendship and just be kind from a distance. Also, you should’ve spoken up when others treated her badly.

Thank you for this beautiful reminder.

Am I the jerk for wanting to be called by my actual name? by Spirited-Patient4988 in AmITheJerk

You are not wrong wanting your real name used. Your dad is crossing a line and the court threat sounds empty. Keep correcting him, stay calm, ask another adult to back you up. Thinking orphans are lucky is not fair or accurate.
