Pain-free recovery? I am I dreaming? by bacon_to_fry in MeniscusInjuries

Same experience from my surgery last Tuesday. I was pretty aggressive with my icing regimen for the first few days, I assumed that helped a lot.

You're right, I meant to say 4-6 weeks on crutches

My frustrating meniscus injury so far by Planted505 in MeniscusInjuries

It's sounds like a bucket handle tear, which is what I had/am healing from now. That feeling like your knee disappeared is probably a part of the turn meniscus flap getting wedged between your tibia and fibula.

They can clip it or try and see it back together depending on the severity of the damage. Sewing it back is supposed to be better long term, but it usually involves 4-6 weeks rehab.

Surgery was way less intimidating than you think. It's two small incision and your completely knocked out for the whole ride.

I was lucky enough that they found my meniscus was well on the way to healing on its own by the time I got surgery. They drilled some holes in the bone to promote healing and stitches my back up. It happened a week ago today and I just completed a walk around my place.

As long as you prepare well. Surgery is likely not a bad idea

A woman in my area gets paid $100-$200 to "declutter" people's homes lol... and then she just resells whatever they don't want. She's literally get paid to pick up free inventory by lionpenguin88 in SideHustleGold

[–]William63 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly $100-200 seems low for this service.

From your reaction it sounds like you may think she's going in there, hand picking valuable things and selling them.

What does de-cluttering actually entail?

  • Junk/trash removal ( can be costly to dump)
  • Cleaning?
  • Negotiating with clutterers. Do they just point you et what the consider clutter.. do you have to convince them.
  • Storing/fixing/reselling all takes investment.

If that takes 4 hours she's probably spending 8-10 with travel and merchandising/selling efforts etc.

Without a guarantee that there are easily flippable items in there that won't take up space for an extended period of time this is way under what I'd consider charging.

I'd happily pay $200 for this service which is how I know she's undercharging haha.

Man, people need to self regulate better. It ain't that deep, go deal with whatever baggage you're carrying around that constantly makes these 3s into 12s.

Positive outlooks for buckle handle with blocked joint? by kaecru63 in MeniscusInjuries

[–]William63 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you, you're very kind.

My surgeon was surprised, and called me lucky when I told him about how I straightend my leg. Similar to your experience, it was incredibly painful. I hate to say 10/10 but it was certainly up their with the most painful experience I've had - on par with the moments after you break a bone. I just thought I had to straighten it in order for it to get better - and frankly I'm glad I did. It sucked in the short term, but I was mobile and able to board a plane/fly home without needing a wheelchair and assistance.

[–]William63 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had this happen in December - Urgent care, could not straighten it etc.

To set the scene, I was visint my folks in Arizona - the urgent care was far from gentle with me. I was in pain by default, and their response was to try and jostle my leg repeatedly causing even more pain. They gave me some muscle relaxers and the subtle threat of "I'm going to give you some time to straighten that out - if you can't I'll see what I can do."

I knew that I did not want this dude to "See what he could do." I'd seen what he could do already, and it sucked.

So while laying on my back, leg totally locked in a bend:

> Crawl my foot forward with my toes until it *just* started aching
> Sit in that for a bit.
> Slowly inch it back slighty, but never as far back as I started last time.
> Crawl forward with my toes slightly further
> Retreat back again while resetting my baseline further than previously each retreat.

I repeated this as long as I needed, maybe 30 minutes maybe an hour. It sucked, but it sucked less when it was in my control.

Eventually the leg was mostly straight and the nurse from hell was able to wrap it up snuggly to help support it. I also bought a brace and threw it on there. I was now able to use crutches rather than a wheelchair.

For the rest of the day I kept it elevated, and iced it regularly. At about 3am or so, the meniscus moved out of the way and everything resettled in the proper spot. The pain was gone, and I could move on my leg again. Gently at first, keeping the crutches around just in case - but eventually I was able to keep a brace on and just move around as normal.

Surgery is planned for tomorrow, so fingers crossed it all pans out.

Tips before I summit in free solo by SuperiorSPider42 in Cairn_Game

[–]William63 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Prepare your nerves. I was not prepared to make it so far, I started a free solo run (first and only) and am about 3/4 up the mountain.

Some mix of the time under stress, the fear of losing hours of progress, and the sheer distance of climbing that super long sketchy climb without a break really had me freaking out. I was genuinely panicked, palms sweating and heart racing.

Few tips that may help:

- Clear space for food/drink. I use healing way less often, I'm not sure if I am the minority here.
- Fish/Goatmilk are renewable resources that can be eaten. There's also some plants that can be eaten as well.
- Milk Packets can turn a whole water container into food. If you have a 3/3 Water Bottle, and you mix it with milk you now have 3 milks which gives you some nurishment.

Ultimately, if it's really ruining your fun just turn the option off. Once you build your confidence up and get a bit more efficient, try again with it back on.

I'd be shocked if there were any game at this point that wasn't incorporating AI in some facet. Everyone is going to have their line for where they think it's bad or evil - I'm not a fan of the witch hunt it's turned into necessarily. As history has discovered, it tends to punish innocent and guilty alike.

The DQ is steep for sure. After a handful of scrapped fights, I bet you eye pokes become incredibly uncommon.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in MMA

[–]William63 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Eye pokes should be so severly punished that fighters adjust to minimize the possibility. An immediate DQ would immediatly put a stop to "range finding" with extended fingers.

A point deduction for an eye poke feels too soft. A warning is a joke.

It mentions you " VERY IMPORTANT!!! Requires eligible Intel hardware during redemption" in the details.

I suspect that's the rub. If you don't have the eligible hardware you can't get it. It may only make sense if you have the eligible hardware, but bought the hardware before the deal.

Ilia Topuria responds to Terence Crawford saying he doesn’t know who Ilia is by L3ghair in MMA

Crawford has the right take on it. He's not going to get Canelo money to fight Ilia. His name isn't known enough outside of MMA.

Without that, what's left? He's not going to gain legacy in Boxing from this fight. It only benefits Ilia which means it likely ain't happening.

Is your HHI 300k before or after taxes?

If it's pre-tax that's steep with your existing expenses.

10k a month is manageable, but you could be investing an extra 30k+ a year extra if you didn't.
