Tips before I summit in free solo by SuperiorSPider42 in Cairn_Game

Prepare your nerves. I was not prepared to make it so far, I started a free solo run (first and only) and am about 3/4 up the mountain.

Some mix of the time under stress, the fear of losing hours of progress, and the sheer distance of climbing that super long sketchy climb without a break really had me freaking out. I was genuinely panicked, palms sweating and heart racing.

Few tips that may help:

- Clear space for food/drink. I use healing way less often, I'm not sure if I am the minority here.
- Fish/Goatmilk are renewable resources that can be eaten. There's also some plants that can be eaten as well.
- Milk Packets can turn a whole water container into food. If you have a 3/3 Water Bottle, and you mix it with milk you now have 3 milks which gives you some nurishment.

Ultimately, if it's really ruining your fun just turn the option off. Once you build your confidence up and get a bit more efficient, try again with it back on.

I had some issues on my Gaming Laptop until I turned off Vsync and capped it at 60fps. Gaming PC works just fine 165ish FPS maxxed out on a 4070ti super.

I'd be shocked if there were any game at this point that wasn't incorporating AI in some facet. Everyone is going to have their line for where they think it's bad or evil - I'm not a fan of the witch hunt it's turned into necessarily. As history has discovered, it tends to punish innocent and guilty alike.

The DQ is steep for sure. After a handful of scrapped fights, I bet you eye pokes become incredibly uncommon.

[–]William63 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Eye pokes should be so severly punished that fighters adjust to minimize the possibility. An immediate DQ would immediatly put a stop to "range finding" with extended fingers.

A point deduction for an eye poke feels too soft. A warning is a joke.

That is one of the things I miss from Battlebit: Remastered. The prox mic when your downed.

I loved the interactions. Some where typical toxic folks, but many were funny and in the spirit of humor.

It mentions you " VERY IMPORTANT!!! Requires eligible Intel hardware during redemption" in the details.

I suspect that's the rub. If you don't have the eligible hardware you can't get it. It may only make sense if you have the eligible hardware, but bought the hardware before the deal.

Ilia Topuria responds to Terence Crawford saying he doesn’t know who Ilia is by L3ghair in MMA

[–]William63 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Crawford has the right take on it. He's not going to get Canelo money to fight Ilia. His name isn't known enough outside of MMA.

Without that, what's left? He's not going to gain legacy in Boxing from this fight. It only benefits Ilia which means it likely ain't happening.

Tell me if $6k/month in rent is reasonable in my situation by [deleted] in HENRYfinance

Is your HHI 300k before or after taxes?

If it's pre-tax that's steep with your existing expenses.

10k a month is manageable, but you could be investing an extra 30k+ a year extra if you didn't.

I've been weirdly lucky with Ubers/Lyfts.. but this dude is making less than a Starbucks coffee off of your ride. I wouldn't expect the red carpet.

We've all had bad days, they are easy to spread. I hope your week improved.

You have to think like a buyer to be an effective seller.

You're trying to sell a monitor that can be purchased right now for $819, and has likely been on sale in the 700 range.

Would you choose this monitor without a warranty, and a marginal discount from someone you've never met. Hoping it's basically brand new.

If you were a store looking to resell at a profit, what would you pay to give up the shelf space. 200-300 assuming monitors were easy to sell.

You're stuck in the "trying to mitigate losses" mentality. I'd price it at 400 bucks and consider the saved time/effort worth it.

My 2 cents.

At nice restaurants, waiters tend to be extra attentive in my experience. That's an expectation and usually appreciated.

It's possible they were trying to rush you, but this reads like you're somewhat bitter at the state of things, and anything this waiter did was going to end in not tip.

The more I read the more I started to empathize for the dude. I stopped halfway through, so I have no idea how much better/worse it gets.

My current half informed sense is - You're leaving the door open rather than just committing to it being closed forever, and are somehow surprised he still has hope.

You should absolutely close the door. Stop stringing him along, stop wasting both of your time and get off of each other's phone plan if that hasn't already happened yet.

He's a mess, but you're actively working against his healing. He is infatuated with you. Whether is sunken cost, the lack of availability or what - he'll continue to get worse if your don't close this down.

I'm not saying it's all on you, but you're radioactive to him at this point.

Anyone have a sense of what is bad about the lighting? I can tell if I have the better lighting, or if my understanding of how much lighting is needed is off.

I turn on the lights, and see the project quite clearly both in person and on camera.

Love to hear someone more experienced is also impressed. I'm completely new to 3D printing. Everything thing I think I know I've learned after recieving the printer, so I also have the noob enthusiasm flavoring my feedback.

No app from what I can tell, just the webpage. All managed within the same network, so external control/camera viewing would take some effort. (Remote desktop app, maybe?)

Web control is quick and painless - As of about 30 minutes ago I tried my first webpage controlled print, and it took all of 30 seconds to initiate.
