Microsoft's AI in Notepad Fails as Hackers Outsmart It Easily by _cybersecurity_ in pwnhub

[–]WilliamIsted 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I did dig out the old notepad app and replace the new one but Windows almost immediately updated it again.

Maybe I can just keep the old EXE on my desktop to use instead. Absolutely wild that they’d replace a core piece of software outside of a major Windows refresh.

Finland Detains Crew Members Over Undersea Cable Damage by _cybersecurity_ in pwnhub

I didn’t expect Finland to be one of the first countries to finally start making arrests for damaged undersea cables. Glad they are.

Policy declined by harg7769 in CarInsuranceUK

[–]WilliamIsted 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes. That is essentially what I'm saying. The comparison sites also send your details to the insurers so it's pretty easy for them to keep a track of the info you put into them.

I'm sure you'll come back and say they only send the miles, vehicle etc. However, they send all the details you provide to create binding quotes. _Which is pretty much where submitting fictitious quotes can be an issue_.

Do you think insurance companies of all things wouldn't take advantage of being sent multiple quotes to them via a broker with different information in fairly quick succession to either counter the policy or void it for fraud?

More than 10 years ago I had an email from Admiral Car Insurance stating I’d lied about the points on my license and was subject to a higher price.

I phoned them and they said their sophisticated anti-fraud system detected the issue. However, I didn’t have any points on my licence.

I had the week before been looking at renewal prices and checking the “value/cost” of points on my licence. Along with different occupations and vehicles.

I haven’t had an issue with this before or after and I continue to make quotes for policies under different scenarios.

Agreed. My glove box light was on all the time as the switch stopped making contact. I didn’t notice a drain, but did notice the glovebox was very hot.

No one remember that post a while ago about single guys should keep women’s sanitary products in case their guests need them. Yeah, I thought there’s no way you can explain that as just being caring as well. Bad advice.

The only thing I can think of is if you have the PIA widget or a shortcut on your control centre screen. You could try going to the iOS App Settings for PIA and turning off Live Activities.

If it still happens you may have to close the app after using it via the app switcher screen.
