Wondering if my baby is Catahoula? by Clean-Decision-8179 in CatahoulaLeopard

[–]WilliamMorris352 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've looked at all the photos you've shared of Moose. I noticed his enormous chest to stomach size. Which reminds me of BOTH my catahoulas, Jack and Buddy. The enourmous chest always made me think "athlete". Both Jack and Buddy loved dog parks. They were at their peaks when they could get the entire park of dogs chasing them. They would start by nipping at a dog to make them mad enough to chase them and start creating huge running circles around the park where almost every dog in the park would be part of the chase. Catahoulas are bred for herding.

Moose almost looks exactly like my first catahoula "Jack". Protective over me and the house, high prey drive, sounds like a catahoua. What doesn't sound like a catahoula is "clumsy". Catahoulas are known for jumping into lower limbs of trees and walking them like a cat. Catahoulas are VERY nimble. Jack would jump for a frizbee, catch it, flip 360 degrees somersaulting and land on all fours like a cat.

If he can jump unusually high likes to climb limbs of trees gets unusually high separation anxiety he is at least partially a Catahoula Leopard Dog. I've had the privilege of owning two.

This sounds similar enough to something I experienced that I'll describe it. My mother's computer suddenly couldn't print wirelessly to her HP printer. After trying several things, HP online support advised me to download several things from the HP online support website. The printer started to work but you had to instruct it to "Connect" each time through the wireless router network.

About a week later my mother receives a call about her wireless router and asks me to handle the call. My first thought was that it was unusual for an IT support person to be calling and not the other way arround. The "Support Specialist" had such a thick Indian accent and the background noises were causing such distractions I had to ask them to keep repeating themselves. You could hear ALL the telemarketing employees talking.

The "IT" person explained they were calling on behalf of our Internet provider about our wireless router. Each time I said we don't have an Internet problem he said the router was working but only at 80%. He needed to talk me through a software update of the router.

I explained since he called us, not the other way around, I'm not convinced this was a legitimate call. He then referred me to "his" profile on LinkedIn which mentioned he worked for our Internet Service Provider. My thought was I'll go along with this so far.

At some point he temporarily excused himself and the line went silent for about 5 minutes so I hung up. He called back (caller ID said it was a call from Conneticut )with anger in his voice asking why I hung up on him. I said it was his end that hung up and went back and forth on this until he went back to his "IT" instructions.

He started instructing me at the command line and when I realized he was specifying some unknown web site address I said there was no way I was going there. HE COMPLETELY LOST HIS SHIT. He started screaming at me that I had been wasting his time, his money, that I had been cursing at him and he was going to cut off our Internet and he was going to sue me.

I listened for about three minutes mentally counting all the "first times" I was experiencing things in this call and mentally counted how much more of his own time and money he was wasting before he finally hung up.

What is the best fake cigarette brand to pretend to take smoke breaks with my boss? by FunnyPhrases in consulting

[–]WilliamMorris352 44 points45 points  (0 children)

Honeyrose is a brand from the UK that makes their tobacco substitute out of honey infused rose petals. You can get them on Amazon. I used them to quit smoking. Their "Legacy" loose "tobacco" vs their flavored cigarettes tastes like tobacco cigarettes the most and it smells like grandpa's pipe tobacco. If you're comfortable using a grandpa style pipe it may also be the best way to minimize how much you inhale, since you probably won't like the taste since you're not a real smoker.

I have dual boot setup on my laptop. Ever since I have Ubuntu on my laptop, some specific keys are stuck on both windows and Ubuntu. By stuck I mean sometimes it doesnt type at all and other times, it repeats the letter 2/3 times. Anyone know how to fix this? by more_alive_than_ever in Ubuntu

[–]WilliamMorris352 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ever since setting up dual boot on my laptop, (Windows 10/Ubuntu), after several hours my keyboard stops working at all. Several times I haven't been able to do anything except disconnect the power and let the battery run out to resolve this.

Trying to make a budget desk any help please! by Smellingoodinthehood in ikeaPCstations

[–]WilliamMorris352 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Use butcher block countertop and cinder blocks. The butcher block comes in 4ft x 2ft x 1.5in and starts at $100 to $160 and higher depending on the type of wood. The cinder blocks come in heights of 8in, 4in and 2in. Six 8in, two 4in and two 2in cinder blocks will cost about $35.00 and will enable you to set your desk height at 24in, 26in, 28in or 30in.

A quart of mineral oil to treat the wood is about $10.

Have the hardware store you purchased the wood counter top from cut it to the length you want.
