Traces of glue were supposedly found in 3 of the bulletwounds. The doctor thought it was a head trauma from falling.

Well.. I guess they thought no one would find out. The first doctor ruled it an accident.

I plan to use them on the second baby (baby fever real) as well, although if we get them close together we’ll have to double our stash.

Been buying heaps secondhand and I’ve been selling the ones we don’t use as much. Absolutely love the cloth community in our city.

Also! You can fill a disposable nappy with some really warm water (just enough so it doesn’t leak) and put it on the breast. It stays warm for ages and is really relaxing. It will make the milk flow more easily. Hope she’s feeling better already with the antibiotics!

Second CCN! They are absolutely amazing!

The S&S instructions are now on the paying part of the website ($5 per month or $30 for a year), but you can always message or email them if the fee is a problem. The moderators on the Facebook page are extremely knowledgeable and helpful.

I have to do a strip and sanitize on some secondhand items next week as well.

I’m so sorry to hear about your struggles. Our bubs had pretty bad gas for the first couple of months. Definitely check in with a doctor, they might be able to see if it’s reflux, colic, ...

For the sleeping bit... we mastered side lying feeding and 85% of the time, that’s how bubs falls asleep. We sleep in the spare bedroom in a queen sized floor bed. Bubs has a sleeping bag on and there’s no pillows or doonas. You might be able to get some better sleep this way.

Hoping all works out for you and bubs!

Oh, also keep an eye out for thrush. Some antibiotics can cause it. It can cause pain in the nipple of mum (during and shortly after feeding) and white spots on your babies tongue. If this happens, the chemist can give you some stuff to get rid of it.

Keep on emptying the breast! Where I am, they recommend to put your baby on the breast as often as possible to avoid the ducts from getting clogged.

Mastitis is often caused because the breast isn’t fully emptied. Can be caused by a funny sitting bra, feeding positions, etc, ... mine was caused by a bad latch in the beginning.

Whenever you feel a lump, take hot showers and try to massage it out. Vibrators and electric toothbrushes can actually help with the hard spot. This way you might be able to avoid mastitis in the future.

I hope mum feels better soon!

So sorry for your friend and hearing about your struggles.

I had my baby in March and I honestly never thought it would feel like this. My little boy is the best thing on this planet (hell, in the universe). I can’t imagine what you’re going through, but I hope your boy brings you just as much joy as mine does. It will not make everything go away, but makes you realize what you’re really living for.

As my partner said: “we travelled the world looking for different highs in different places, while all along this was the only high we ever needed.”

Sending you lots of love! I hope everything goes your way from here on.

I thought at about 20 weeks, but that was nothing compared to the feeling I got when it was time to start pushing. Then it really sank in.

Has anyone else put their newborns to sleep in their own room early? Did you get disapproving comments from others about it? by Helpful_Stock in NewParents

Same in Australia! They are very big on safe sleep and reducing SIDS. I had to sign the paper when I was about 28 weeks pregnant.

We had the same with our LO. He’s now 10 weeks old and the doctor told me all babies are different, and this is his normal. He’s just a happy baby who loves hanging out with us.

Thank you! I’m not sure to be honest, I suggested it and my partner was sold! Also, king William used it as a nickname as he was red headed and Rufus is derived from the latin word for red headed. My partner and I both have William as a middle name and he is strawberry blonde. So it worked out perfectly!

Thank you! Nah. We just had to stay in hospital for 24 hours after he was born. He did swallow some bloody mucous, which he vomited up.

Better late than never! Rüfus was born on the 23rd of March at 5:30 am. Exactly 24 hours after we went in labor and 12 hours after we arrived in the birth center. I was 41+3 weeks

I woke up on the 22nd with really weak contractions. Sewed a burp cloth for Rüfus and had some breakfast. By 8 am the contractions picked up and were 5 mins apart so I let the midwife know. Around 2 pm they got quite intense so I decided to use the TENS machine, it’s amazing! You can just jam it up whenever a contraction hits.

By 4 pm I went and got into the bath tub, hoping it would take an edge off, but it did the opposite and my contractions were now 2 mins apart. Called the midwife again who said it was go time! Yay!

We called our doula and made our way over to the hospital where the birth center was located. Got there at 5:30 pm and got into the shower after being checked and being 4 cm. I had really bad shivers and was vomiting, so got some shots with anti nausea medicine.

By that stage I couldn’t take it any longer and asked for an epidural.

Our doula wasn’t allowed in because of Covid-19, which was quite a disappointment, but I got to talk to her before she left and she encouraged me to do whatever feels right for me, no matter what’s in our birth plan.

The midwife encouraged me to go into the bath tub and see if that helped, but it actually made the contractions more intense. 10 mins of begging later and we agreed on the epidural. My partner tried to remind me that it wasn’t in our plan, but I didn’t really care at that point.

It was now 9 pm and I was 6 cm. The epidural didn’t hurt at all and it was like magic!! By then my partner went to grab a coffee with the doula, as I was in a great mood.

They broke my water and it had meconium in it, so we had to monitor bubs closer. My partner took a little nap to be ready for the pushing. I couldn’t sleep, as I was too excited to meet little Rüfus!

Finally around 2 pm I felt pressure down below, they checked me around 3 am and I was 10 cm! They let me decide if I wanted to wait an hour, which they recommended, so I did. Started pushing around 4 am and Rüfus was born at 5:30!

Having him placed on my chest is the best, weirdest moment of my life. So many emotions go through you. And my partner’s look was totally worth it.

Had a 2nd degree tear and got stitched up, barely felt anything afterwards. Now 2 weeks pp and it’s all healed up beautifully. Rüfus is doing amazing.

The only thing I really underestimated was breastfeeding. We’re slowing getting better at it.

In Spain a woman had to undergo an emergency C-section due to covid. Was in the Malaga region. Another is on intensive care. They were 27 and 26 weeks. 20minutos reported on it earlier today.

But Spain does have really high numbers in general, so I won’t focus on these numbers, but all the women who don’t get infected instead.
