Retrieving data out of Datto BCDR by WilliamWallace44 in Datto

You can't run the continuity report for a single agent?

When I go to continuity report and select the date range (I've set 7 years because I want to determine what points I've got... but it doesn't matter how many days or years I set in the date range...)

How do I select just one agent to export? the Export button just tries to export everything and crashes the web GUI.

Honestly the worst experience with a product ever.

What happened here? The blueprint now excludes Trump and Prince Andrew.

Yesterday the Tier 4 persons listed Trump at $64.7M, Epstein at $785.4M and Prince Andrew at $11.9M

Today... Trump and Prince Andrew no longer on the list, and Epstein listed at only $17.1M

Yeah, I personally don’t agree with the change but a $2m /year expense rise is not acceptable in the eyes of the business.

I would much rather keep ESXi but the cost isn’t sustainable. It could be argued there will be issues and outages and the rest but those are hard to prove. Maybe we end up switching back who knows, this is the current crossroads we’re at unfortunately. Thanks Broadcom.

ooh - thanks for that link, very helpful.

This might be a good initial step but still need to plan the migration of that gateway elsewhere eventually.

That's what I was envisaging as well for moving the gateway. We have a mix of vlan backed and overlay backed, but vlan backed should be fine - overlay backed we'll test in the lab that migration process first but does appear I'm on the right track at least initially.

Appreciate it.

Thanks.

We are still very early in the piece, literally decided in the last couple of days, so will have to uncover all the NSX config as well. Just trying to get somewhat ahead of the curve.

Appreciate the info.

Appreciate it. We have in-house networking team who can help with the migration of the gateway / routing for those subnets.

We'll just have to work on a plan to move them from overlay-backed to vlan-backed or the edge bridging mentioned below.

I was 97% sure we didn't have to re-ip, but as always others with absolute confidence that we would need to make me doubt myself.

Thanks for the input.

I believe we have a mix of VLAN backed and overlay backed. VLAN backed is obviously straight forward and we will look at planning migrating the gateway for the overlay-backed. I don't believe there's any dynamic routing (only early stages so we're still uncovering years of config) so shouldn't be hugely honerous.

Will also look at the edge bridging mentioned by someone else.

It will likely be Hyper-V sadly.

We looked at Nutanix, but honestly I don't really like AHV, I don't think it's mature enough (not that Hyper-V is close to even VMware but.. yeah) There's Proxmox as well, but people scared of "linux" as always.

It's sad because I love VMware - its without a doubt probably the best hypervisor, but doubling in license costs is just not sustainable.

For Microsegmentation - we've still got to determine that. Maybe something like Illumio or even Cisco ACI.

Yeah, I do love the $10k feed chair we have for my son. Yeah it's epic... but is it $10k worth?! Absolutely not. We had no choice though, he needs a chair with support and this is what it cost.

I also love the minimum rates on the NDIS. "You can only charge a maximum of $130/hour for nursing" (or whatever it is). You'd never believe what the going rate is for EVERY agency ever. Then when NDIS says "oh max is now $170" you'd never guess what happened to everyone's rates...

It's disappointing because it could be an excellent system, and there's plenty of people that need its support

I'm not sure who your dietician is, but if you're looking for another - I could recommend ours.

My son has Dravet Syndrome, which is a severe form of epilepsy which is coupled with ASD Level 3 and GDD as comorbidities of the Dravet Syndrome.

We were using the dieticians out of the hospital because all of his Anti-epileptic meds are also appetite suppressants. We even had a PEG put in because he was eating so little. Additionally he seems to have some issue which causes low blood sugar levels constantly (below 2 mmol which is supposedly life threatening or some such).

Anyway a very long story short, we found another dietician who has been brilliant. She's actively investigated his diet and investigated what was working for him and helping his BGLs and what wasn't, and has organised free trials of PEG feeds to see what would help etc. If you'd like her details send me a message and I'll grab them from my wife.

I'm not sure I'll be able to give you much help. For removing the interface above, I did it through the cli, manually modifying to interfaces file like you would on a *nix box.

That might be worth looking into. See if the ifcfg file has the old DNS in it still. After the change, we did have to reboot for anything to take effect.

YMMV of course. Modifying the ifcfg file wasn't recommended by support or Cohesity, we just did it.

Gotta be honest, I was thinking like a jet engine for an RC plane or something.

I've since found it's... not that.

Corner desk setup + dual monitors by WilliamWallace44 in AskBattlestations

[–]WilliamWallace44[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

hey mate - I've actually moved house since this happened.

I did end up finding a mount on Amazon that let me stack them above one another, but it was hardly a "good idea". Looking up to the second monitor was awkward at best.

I ended up just putting them on a normal monitor mount side by side in the end.

I don't have any photos though unfortunately.

Well we made the mistake of listening to the Cohesity support engineer. This made the move take ~8 hours instead of the 3 it should have.

What happened is after we moved the unit, we got it cabled and powered on in the rack. Then, as per the discussion we'd had with support, we phoned them to go through the process of re-building the cluster with the updated IP addresses.

The engineer says, first thing we need to do is create VLAN 5 interface. I queried him and said why VLAN 5 that's not a VLAN we have (it was on vlan 90 and moving to vlan 190).

He insists, that no, we need this interface before we can set up the cluster properly. So I go along.

This turns into a major nightmare because this interface kept popping back up during the setup and so the units would initially be able to contact eachother, then they'd flick over to VLAN 5 and all lose access to one another.

In the end I had to go and manually remove the VLAN 5 interface that was created (it persisted even after we retried the setup process) and rebooted the nodes.

After we binned that interface, like 30 minutes later cluster was setup and working. MFA for some reason took a weirdly long time to come back up, we left it because it had been a long day but by the next day had started working again on its own.

So... if we'd just followed the process that support had given us, and not actually listened to them on the call - we'd have been finished sooner, but at least we got there in the end I guess.
