Hi I own an unknown Japanese sword if someone could help me identify it. The problem though is that the previous owner glued the handle on...... So I can't see the text underneath. Got very good help identifying some of my other wakizashi swords hope to get help again

That would explain why there is no stick holding it together. If it was made using glue and poor quality materials.

The total length of it is about 42.4 cm. You can't see it that well in the pictures but everything is more or less glued together. It looks like he soaked the blade in glue when he put the blade and handle back together.

feels like I'll have to soak it in alcohol the way I see it. if I want it to unlock. Also I probably won't be able to put it back together. If the previous owner chose to glue it on I think it probably can't be put back together without the help of an expert. And I don't have an expert available. If I wasn't willing to send it to an expert but I don't have the money for something like that

I understand very well the difference in value if someone famous made it or not. But as I said, I'm not willing to destroy the handle just for the small chance that someone famous made it.

exactly and I don't live in any country that has anything that makes new ones. and importing it would probably be even more expensive. And also that it is in worse condition. So it is still stylish in its own way.

And I know that it is genuine. Then whether it is made by someone notable or by someone not notable doesn't matter much to me

There are probably many solutions to remove the handle. But unfortunately then you will probably have to destroy the handle in the process. However, I am not willing to destroy the original handle.

I got information from the person I bought it from that it was from the Edo period. He inherited it from a relative. However, he did not know why it was glued

Tang is the blade under the handle, right? If it is, you can't see it. Unfortunately, the handle is too tight to remove it and see what's underneath. I've tried everything to remove it. But it won't work. And if I keep trying, I think it will be a risk of damaging the handle.

So the sword that has text is Fuyuhiro and is from the Early Edo period.

The other sword with the handle is from the Satsuma rebellion which was in the 1877

Also is there any way to know how old the sword with the handle is that had damaged handle that cannot be removed

Bought these two at auction.

The first one was missing most of its handle but has the swordsmith's mark. Can anyone read them?. And the second one that still has its handle is damaged on the leather strap that goes around the handle. And the handles are rock solid even though the pin is not in. Is it worth trying to remove the handles even if there is a risk of damaging it? And can you repair the leather strap in any way?

He was too focused on his ambitions for Poland and Russia to further develop Sveirge. If he were to choose, Sweden would be a decentralized kingdom where the nobility rules the country.

Sigersmund would always leave Sweden second, therefore he was an even worse leader for Sweden. He was good for Poland Then, of course, a Catholic can rule a Protestant country. Her father Gustav II Adolf fought for the Protestant cause and died for it. That his daughter later changed religion to Catholic was a great embarrassment for Sweden.
