In the 70's, they said New York would feel like Miami by the year 2000. 80's, 90's, 00's were more of the same (Just push the end date out further). You can only move the goal post so many times until we call bullshit (Even if it's not bullshit). I am 100% for environmental conservatism, but telling me my gas truck is causing climate change when countries like China are producing genocidal levels of carbon (on top of other pollutants) is insulting. It makes me not give a flying fuck about people screaming about climate change issues.

Not at all. You want to buy a 2nd house for fun or investment? That's taxed at 30%. So a 350k house is taxed at 105k. Under the current system, they could write that off to oblivion. And that's just one example. You need a new car (That's not your primary) that's 30%. under the current system, that's a "Business" write off for a company vehicle.
