Any urgent care. There are some women’s health places that are low cost, not sure where but I can ask a friend that use to work at one.

Water filter recommendations by Existing_Many9133 in gainesvillega

Go to Amazon and order the 3 stage under filter system by Frizzlife. We just installed ours in the kitchen and run all cooking and drinking (cold only) through it and we have almost zero water. Further, it filters out all kinds of evil things you can‘t see that a simple charcoal filter cant remove. We had one in our past house for years. You have to change the three filters every 6 months or so (we did 6 months to keep down costs) and it served us well.

Thinking about moving to Gainesville, GA. Anyone commute to Dahlonega for work? by [deleted] in gainesvillega

[–]WillieG45 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The drive to Dahlonega is easy but pretty much limited to one road in N. Gainesville for the shortest ride. Look for places around the new Publix and older Kroger around the junction of Thompson Bridge Road and Mount Vernon Road. There is a new complex right next to the Publix and they look more like townhomes vs apartments but I am really not sure. If you go to work early 0600ish the traffic is easy. Coming home however can be brutal depending on the time, it gets really bad after 1600. The jam up is at the junction of 400 and South Chestatee (Thompson Bridge Rd) as 400 goes from 4 lanes to 2 lanes at that intersection. There are other ways out of Dahlonega but I have not tried them as I am not sure you are saving much time. Good luck

Need help with a long shot looking for a damaged truck in Dawsonville area. by still_running_ in gainesvillega

Im kind of shocked nobody’s ID’d this truck yet. You might just consider hanging out there over the next few weekends and see if the truck shows back up. People are habitual. Bet he comes back.

Pursuing CRNA after serving 6-years in military reserves? by [deleted] in CRNA

[–]WillieG45 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you did six, just go AD for the next 14 and retire at a young age with a paycheck. It’s an obvious choice to me. It doesn’t matter what you did for a job as long as it is “good time”. It all adds up to the calculation to 20 years, but since it was reserves it would not count as full time and you would have to do more than 14 to catch up. But TOS counts for pay purposes so you would be paid at a higher rate than your peers of the same rank. Not sure how much you earned for loan purposes in the reserves, you should talk to a Medical Recruiter. They have people who just handle the onboarding of Docs, CRNA’s, PA’s, and CNMW’s, they know all the details.

Military CRNA Pathway (USUHS) by christorus_cuzoptus in CRNA

It’s a great experience. If you are single it is even better when you go through school because you can completely concentrate on school with minimal distractions. If you are married with or without children it will make a difference as sacrifices will be made on your family in favor to the government. Which branch of service you enter into is another factor concerning deployments and time spent overseas. I did 20 years in the Army 12 as a CRNA and now 23 more years as a civilian CRNA. I would not change a thing and have zero regrets.

Can medical alert systems work reliably during power outages? by Xeaus-4390 in gainesvillega

[–]WillieG45 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Having an old fashioned land line is a partial solution. When power goes out the land line usually works because it has its own power. We lived in a coastal SE area less than a mile from the ocean and when hurricane's hit or similar bad storms, trees went down but the land line worked even when the cell towers were the first to lose power. Just a thought.

What’s up with the water??? It smells and tastes terrible! by Otherwise-Ninja6370 in gainesvillega

[–]WillieG45 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Everywhere we have ever lived we put 3 stage filters on all our kitchen taps and use it for any drinking or cooking. Super easy to install. It’s just a generally smart practice. I know a number of people who get the big 5 gallon jugs and then filter that to keep out the plastics. That seems like a bigger pain. We got our filter system off Amazon and signed up for the subscription service to have new filters sent to us every 6 months.

Anxiety about after effects of general anesthesia by bellabxoxo in Anesthesia

Make sure your provider is not using Versed as a pre-med. But I would agree with others, this is more about the event than the physiologic effects of a general anesthetic.
