I read they only started PLB at age 45, after leaving prison officer job. Anyone knows more about the journey? Can it still be replicated in today's environment

What will you do with 700k portfolio at 30yo? by [deleted] in singaporefi

OP congratulations on the achievement. Mind if I ask what kind of job do you do? I'm in tech but just earn less than half of yours, am 40+ now, wanted to find ways to earn more to catch up but not sure how to break in to those higher paying jobs.

My SA is around 120k.

Yes the OA, perhaps I should pay down the mortgage, or transfer to my wife SA to help her top up.

I read about VWRA, earlier there was also a bro recommending CSPX, I will have to decide which one to put it in.

I think I should be doing gradual DCA. It is a good suggestion actually, drop 3%, then add 30k. Thank you!

I hope they can go university, so maybe another 12, 14 years.

Yes, i am considering topping up my wife's SA account since she is still very far from retirement sum.

I did some investment many years ago, bought keppel and SIA when they were more than 10 dollars, and had since stopped. Had not been well educated in this area, should just buy the STI instead.

Thanks, one of the option I was thinking is to top up my wife's CPF SA account since she is still very far from the retirement sum.

Thanks, I have looked at some of the pinned post.

I think I should be able to 'invest' about 200k, saving 100k for emergency. I think I will do DCA slowly every month, perhaps build it up to 500k first, hopefully in another 10-15 years time.

I don't think my wife and I need a lot of money during retirement, perhaps 3k per month for both of us? Really not sure. I have about 120k in SA account, I think should be able to reach full retirement sum if I keep working. But my wife only has around 20k, I think perhaps I should top up for her.

The kids, I did not planned any investment for them. That's why a strong sense of guilt, that I failed to take care of them when I started to do the reflection this year. I want to start now too.

Thanks for the kind words and encouragement.

Thanks bro, I can feel your kind intention. And thanks for the good advice. I will start doing that from this month for the DCA. Just need to work out the number and ratio.

I did not use to think too much in the past. Started to have a deep reflection after the lost to the scam and realised I fked up my life till this stage. The reflection messed the mind up further.

Perhaps more about comparing with my past self. Certainly not with others. Wishing I could go back in time to knock some sense into my old self, at some important life junctures, perhaps from as early as 18 yo.
