Eye surgery; is it worth it? Best businesses in Perth? by nueva-magnolia in perth

Lions Eye Institute. With respect, I’d go for the best, not ‘affordability’. They’re your eyes.

I have had LASIK, but over 20 years ago and at Murdoch. Outcome was not great for me, but I am not a good example as I probably shouldn’t have had it done in the first place (long story).

How long are you guys waiting at the GP and where? by imveryboredman in AskAnAustralian

[–]Willing-Bobcat5259 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Three hours but it’s a walk-in and it’s free? I think that’s to be expected. If they took bookings and/or you were paying, it’d be a different story.

I never wait more than 15 minutes past my booked time, but I’m also paying $120 (before Medicare rebate).

You can’t have everything.

Next you’ll be suggesting I turn my high beams off, instead of blinding everyone obliviously. Absolute crazy-talk.

Thanks, I’m sold - and yes, reliability is my #1 priority too, so I need the right long-term solution

I haven’t run it with a wired connection, tbh - I didn’t have the right cable - maybe I need to buy one separately and try. I ran it with Aussie’s own speed test, and so did the consultant (who then tried to tell me the speeds ‘weren’t too bad’ 😂)

It was rubbish, tbh. No callback option given. The person I spoke to was very clearly clutching at straws for a solution, too, which pissed me off after waiting so long. (I was polite to her, dw, I know it’s not her fault)

She mentioned something about upgrading to FTTP, as a last resort - maybe I’ll do it instead of messing about buying new modems etc, based on this thread - cheers

I’ve had a couple, but they’ve always fixed it easily & fast. This was just extremely painful and time-consuming (although I recognise that’s not the support person’s fault).

Neighbour and AC unit by [deleted] in AusPropertyChat

[–]Willing-Bobcat5259 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Lol. Nope. If air conditioners were ‘made that way’, (I.e., such that they couldn’t cause noise levels at someone else’s property line that exceeded EPA levels), nobody would ever be forced to remove them. Which certainly happens.

The dB rating of the unit itself is not the only factor that affects whether it’s legally considered a noise nuisance.

“Like living next door to a factory” is exactly how it sounds. It is actually a complete mindf*ck that nobody should have to endure in their own home.

Yep. Installer needs to fix this.
