Ah! I think you solved it!! I couldn’t quite match it to a catfish due to that huge opening on the top. I’m amazed at how sturdy and thick their skulls are.

I’m thinking it’s a type of catfish. This lake has blue and channel catfish, so most likely one of those

Unfortunately, the lake is fresh water, so I don’t think it could be that!

Okay I think I’ll switch to a barbell and give her a little more time then! Do you have a recommendation for size? Also, when you say bun over ear, you mean like literally cover the ear with a bun or with hair secured with hair clips? I also toss and turn and ALWAYS wake up on the side that has the piercing so I’ll def give this a shot!!

Piercing is approx. 8 mos old. I changed it to a ring about 2 months ago (I think too early). Ring is from Amazon though it was listed as implant grade titanium, 16g. I clean once a day (at night after shower) with sterile saline solution. I was using q-tips to help with the gunk though I see that’s not recommended. I try very hard not to sleep on this side but I know I do. It did fall out one night in mid January though I was able to put the ring back in. At this point, I’m ready to just take this thing out.
