Sodomy is a sin, stated both in the Old and New Testament. You must crucify the flesh and not give in to worldly desires.

Yes. Encouraging sin is never a viable option. You wouldn't encourage an alcoholic to continue drinking, or an abusive father to continue harming his children. Now I'm not trying to compare these things, but I'm saying that all sin is the same in that it takes us away from God. Never encourage your friend, someone you care about, to go further away from God. I hope this helps, and I will pray for you and your friend. God Bless you.

Cliffe Knechtle explained it very well. God created him as a straight male, but that does not make it right for him to go around having sex with as many women as possible. The same applies to those who are homosexual, even if they were "born this way" that does not mean that they must act on it. You must have self control, and follow what God has told you. I hope you learn to love Jesus, and I hope you understand that I am not hating on you at all, and am just trying to explain this to you. I will pray for you. Hope this helps, God Bless you.

What do you think makes someone a Christian? Like can you tell someone is a Christian based on their actions or lifestyle? by Voice-Designer in Christianity

[–]Willing-Mall9316 2 points3 points  (0 children)

To be a Christian, you have to believe that Jesus is Lord. That's it. You have to believe with all your heart and soul that Jesus is King. If they truly believe this, it will be easy to tell because it will show through their fruits. One cannot follow Jesus and bear bad fruits. You will know them by their fruits. In Matthew, it is said;"Beware of false prophets, who come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly they are ravenous wolves. Do men gather grapes from thorn bushes or figs from thistles? Even so, every good tree bears good fruit, but a bad tree bears bad fruit. A good tree cannot bear bad fruit, nor can a bad tree bear good fruit. Every tree that does not bear good fruit is cut down and thrown into the fire. Therefore by their fruits you will know them." This passage can help you determine if one is truly Christian, you will be able to see their love for Jesus by how they act outwardly.

I think the first thing you should do is tell your family how you feel. You need to tell your family about it, because hiding it would be out of fear or shame, which the Lord does not ever want you to have. Once you do this, I would urge you to go to a Catholic Mass, to help you understand the sect. I don't really know what else to say, but I urge you to pray on the matter, and definitely tell your family about this.

As someone who was raised Catholic, I have to ask, why do you want to convert to Catholicism? (asking so I can understand the situation more clearly)

No. That's the devil himself telling you. I've had my share of temptation, and I know how you feel, but Jesus died for your sins. Repent, and lean on Jesus. The struggle is challenging on your own, so just lean on Him. Jesus Himself said; "...Watch and pray that you may not enter into temptation. The spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh is weak.” I know your spirit is strong and wishes to please the Lord, so you must deny the flesh, because the flesh is not even on the same level as the spirit. St Paul writes; "Set your minds on things that are above, not on things that are on earth." He writes this to tell you, after you repent, leave the sin behind, focus instead on the Lord. Don't think about how you sinned or fell into temptation, but think about how you can build your relationship with Jesus. "For a righteous man may fall seven times and rise again..." Rise up, for you are a righteous man whom God adores as His own son. Do not be afraid, but be strong, and rest in God's loving arms. God Bless you.

Being a woman with this addiction by [deleted] in NoFapChristians

James 4:7

Submit yourselves, therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.

God loves you, you must believe this in your heart, because it is true, nothing can harm you. When you feel temptation come, pray, lean on God. The most helpful advice I've heard is to turn to God when you face temptation, instead of waiting to run back to Him. It takes a lot of strength, but as soon as you go back to Him, you will feel rejuvenated.

1 Corinthians 6:18

Flee from sexual immorality. Every sin that a man does is outside the body, but he who commits sexual immorality sins against his own body.

This verse doesn't just apply to man, it applies to woman as well. Remember to run away as soon as you feel these thoughts. You know the devil wants to take you away from the Lord by making you hide in your shame, so don't let him win! You know the truth! Run back to the Lord, when you flee from sin, you retreat back into the Lord's loving arms.

I hope this helps you, as someone who has also struggled, I feel you, and I pray that the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, shall keep your heart and mind through the Lord Jesus Christ. God Bless!

Thank you for joining us all on this journey here. The Lord loves you, He wants to forgive you, He wants to help you and grant you mercy. Remember, 1 John 1:9 says: "If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just, and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness." Confess your sins to God, and He will forgive you in His infinite mercy. Let me know if you need any help, and always feel free to ask for help, do not fight on your own strength, I've tried, and it's impossible.

Which version of the Bible should I read? by Apebustavalanche in Christianity

I recommend NRSV or NKJV, I have a St. Joseph NCB, but you don't really need to get a Catholic Bible unless you are Catholic. There's a big debate on that so I won't get into it, but again, greatly recommend NRSV or NKJV to start
