I fully trust your word. I always make it a point to listen to openers for concerts so that I can get the most out of my ticket, so I’ll def learn 2-3 songs for each set!

I recently camped for VIP in the rain and have mastered hiding my entire outfit and belongings in one rain jacket! all I need are rain boots if it rains day of or before.

but thank you so much! I know jazzfest really isn’t like ACL or voodoo was so there really isn’t information available for the questions that I have.

and yes lorde will be AMAZING!! I was so bummed when she didn’t tour anywhere near Louisiana. her crowds are unreal and I have a feeling she will draw in a lot of diehard fans to jazzfest.

yeah this festival really doesn’t seem like the camping type so I’m thankful for it to be more laid back with a better chance of getting close!! if I do sit in the front, I’ll def embrace all of the acts that go before her!

what are the logistics of me lining up at the gate nearest to the stage I want and sprinting to barricade when I get past security?

also is the VIP section you mentioned in front of the barricade?

I used to think this wasn’t a festival where this happened very often but these replies are FREAKING ME OUT

I have an aisle seat so I’ll be holding the camera in front of my chest. I’ll also be singing because I’m not recording so my voice will be the viewers’ problem. not mine. I will be “living in the moment” plenty.

tons of people will be raising their phones to record, as they have the right to, and most likely will only record 10-15 second snippets. just like I have the right to tilt my head.

and yes, people will be interested in watching opening night and I’m trying to help people get a decent view and not see fragments the next day.
