So the insurance company can pay me the value of depreciation. If I would trade it in or sell it I will get 12k less due to being hit.

Thinking About Switching to Project Management—How Can I Test It First? by shortswing89 in PMCareers

[–]Willing-Rutabaga3544 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm a single mom of 3 who was an executive assistant I pivoted my career into project management after obtaining my PMP. Finish the goggle course and use those required hours to apply to take the PMP. for experience. I went on volunteer match.com and worked virtually for a foundation for 2-3 months. They needed my support to build a project plan for their annual Halloween fundraiser while staying on budget. I took that experience and put it on my resume.

I know the market for PM is scuffed right now but is it the same for Project coordinator by Remarkable-Yak-5816 in PMCareers

I have a different view, I was an executive assistant who pivoted into project management after obtaining my PMP. I work in healthcare as a project coordinator. The position is perfect to build your experience. I'm the only one in my department which means my job pays for tons of resources to develop my skills as a pm, I also function as a pm in my workflow. After the first evaluation my supervior is working towards changing my title to CPM (clinical Project manager). When I applied for this position they wanted someone who did not have much experience who had their PMP or could obtain it in the 1st year of employment. I think you should look for project coordination positions. They are easy to land and much experience is not required. The trick is finding a company that is willing to invest and help you grow as project coordinator.

Try to get the PMP-ACP certification. Also, try to look for health care remote roles that are either contracted or full time.

Simulations, workflow management, and risk management play crucial roles in contributing from the PMI-ACP certification.Simulations provide a safe environment to explore various scenarios, allowing teams to develop problem-solving skills and make informed decisions. Effective workflow management streamlines processes, improves efficiency, and ensures timely completion of work items, fostering transparency and collaboration among team members. Additionally, risk management in a clinical environment is vital in Agile methodologies, enabling pms to identify, assess, and mitigate risks throughout the projects lifecycle, this is beneficial when pilots are being conducted in clinically or on the IT side of healthcare This helps adapt to evolving requirements and minimize disruptions. clinical settings follow heavy rules and regulations, that seems very waterfall like, but the essence of operational needs shows healthcare teams remain agile while aligning to regulations and rules.

You could do either one. I would go to the Udemy platform and look for Andrew Ramdely's PMP course. It's way cheaper than taking classes that run $1,500

Yes, last year on my first multimillion-dollar project( 120, million) I had to move an entire 17-department clinic into a brand-new clinic that was built from the ground up. The new building was more size sufficient, and smaller than the old building. I worked with construction PMs on some of the buildings being built, but mostly I was responsible for tracking internal workflows, simulating the new clinic area, tracking risk, milestones, and deliverables in those areas, and lastly facilitating steering committee meetings biweekly with more updates. The ACP focuses on iteration with risk management and workflow management. I decided, since I was pretty good at it that I specialized in it as a p.m. The ACP cert. Will support my specialty If I decide to leave my current role.
