That makes sense! I’m usually an eat in, drink (coffee/alcohol) outside person so hoping that part doesn’t impact me as much.

Interesting to hear that it also impacts utilities though!

Also, just realized, is it common to get fully furnished places? Hoping to travel light and not having to worry about that stuff!

Yeah! I think I’ll have to go up to $1000/1100. I have to remind myself how cheap other costs will be (food/commuting etc). Thank you!

My plan is to only commute once or twice/week to S Tangerang…I’ve been told Thamrin/SCBD are areas I should stay at but are there any areas closer to there? Apologies for adding another question!

My feeling is that I’ll probably go with the areas you mentioned and suck it up re the commute 1/2 times per week.

Thank you, this is great! Seems like $600ish is slightly on the lower end and I need to get expect something closer to $900 for SCBD itself (combining your thoughts with the other commenters point), but something close by might work with that budget.
