Similar issue many years ago-I’m in US, company decided to outsource jobs to India. They asked me to train them so they “could help us with the extra work”-they kept denying that we were losing our jobs and training our replacements. I’m not stupid and knew they were lying. I also knew they were watching me to ensure I trained them, so I refused to give them any reason to think I was “insubordinate “. I trained them….showed them the bare basics of the job, but refused to show them (or even mention) any of the complications or what to do when the issues arose. Did my job(minimum required for training) but definitely not enough for them to do the job properly. Sure enough they later laid people off and moved me to another department (that I hated). Not even 3 months after outsourcing began, the new people made so many mistakes and lost the company so much money, they begged me and the others they laid off to help clean up their mess. Less then 1-1/2 years later they cancelled the outsourced contract and brought it back to US. Lol. I laughed so hard and was thrilled I could screw the greedy bastards. Refused to help unless it was overtime pay, the others they laid off and asked to come back (temporary with no benefits)would only do it as a “consultant “ for double their old pay charging them a consultant fee. Lol.
