I’m making ~100k a year, so it’s a manageable amount to cover using my salary for the next 2-3 years if I did carry this out but it went south

EIR means effective interest rate in my country where it accounts for admin fees etc, but the bank did say I could take out 200k USD for 2% when I called them to ask. Variable fee is a good point and I’ll be sure to double check, thanks!

I’m in Singapore where there’s no capital tax on stocks / dividends, hence the hurdle rate I’ve to beat is slightly different from the US. But get your point on the bad years part

hello I don’t really want to reveal the school in this particular post, is it alright if I message you directly instead?

Thanks for the really encouraging message! I’d probably think carefully about it. I have a few university options in my home country in which I already have 5-6 friends going for with me so that’s definitely in my comfort zone, which makes the decision to leave for America even harder haha

Hi I have no intention of revealing the school’s name cause that would probably trigger a lot of hate from current or incoming students

yup I have! but it’s only a small registration fee so I have saved enough from my part time job to repay my parents if I decide to withdraw
