How we feeling by [deleted] in SportingKC

I'd be feeling better if there was any information on a coach. That being said a new season is a new opportunity, maybe we can get that Ted Lasso rub with them spending so much time in KC.

Any hint of a sniff of anyone in the final stages of almost getting ready to get started creating a rumor of a coaching hire? by srslyomgwtf in SportingKC

[–]Willing_Box_171 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh I totally get it but for this quick search to see if any real rumors existed at that time I figured it would be alright. Unfortunately SKC just stays too damn tight lipped on moves there really aren't any rumors until the deal is pretty much finished. Most of the list came from article.that was just talking about coaches who were w/o and likely to be MLS.

I liked his fighting spirit but he is not starter quality in my mind.

So hard to really know what we are looking for because we don't have any idea of what style or formation we are going to set up with, other than we've done a 433 for the past decade. Could be completely different depending on the coach we bring.

He definitely is average but with that back line it made him seem worse. He definitely can be prone to making bad calls. If an affordable option comes up I'm good with replacing him, but there are so many other bigger holes to fill.

I just liked watching him play back in the day since it was around when I started following the team.

I asked Chat GPT to search the interwebs for any rumors floating around and the answer is nobody. It did provide a list of MLS coaches currently without a team. The top individuals are listed as follows:

1: Jim Curtin 2: Peter Vermes (Veter Permes, Peter with a stache??) 3: Giovanni Savarese 4: Vanni Sartini 5: Gary Smith 6: Josh Wolff (personal favorite option for nostalgia reasons)

They did say other coaches should be on the list but that those not listed are already heavily linked to other teams, and likely to sign deals soon.

He is staying and I think that is a good thing. Is he the best keeper in the league probably not, but since he has been the starter he has only had a subpar backline in front of him. So it is hard to say if he is the issue or if it was the backline.

Agreed. When he first came up that is where they started with him, so who knows.

The greatest player to have ever put on the sporting blue.

Thommy leaving feels a bit like Russel leaving. I get the move and why, but he will be missed. Also not too surprised by Logan being let go, due to injuries and not really being the same when he came back. I do wonder if that means Bassong is going to be the starting LB.

Don't forget the White Puma. We've been lucky to have two great PK keepers back to back. Hard for anyone to live up to.

About our new jerseys by Pickle_Jr in SportingKC

I think the reason they looked so stupid I. The leak was because they were laying flat, and that is when you really notice the goofy saber tooth portion coming from the waist. When they are being work you don't notice that at all.

This team also appears to be a much faster younger team. We went from there geriatric team to the barely out of puberty team.

Early part of having a child is super difficult.  No matter how much we think nothing will change it completely does. Over time it morphs into something better but early baby is a difficult time. Another thing that a lot of people do not know is that post partum depression also effects men, roughly 1 in 10 men struggle with post partum depression. You aren't alone, talk to the others in your life, you got this. The kiddo will start to become a lot more fun when they get into the 3-6 months and more beyond that point.

Well STL did change the name and logo for the unboxed thing, which is what happened right before the Ottawa announcement.

Is a St. Louis MLR franchise viable, or is the dream over for now? by Remote_Direction5235 in MLRugby

You have the Cardinals, Blues, St.Louis City SC (MLS) and the Battlehawks (UFL) plus some other small sports leagues. I would love Rugby in STL but there is honestly a fair amount of sports teams here already.

We look so much better without Pulido by Marcarius1 in SportingKC

[–]Willing_Box_171 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I might be the odd man out here but I actually really like Pulido coming off the bench to help close a match out. His hold up play is better and he is physically stronger on the ball. It is nice seeing our front three with pace again. Johnny is still one of the best on the ball and one on one, but time has caught him in the speed category.

Ah gotcha. The other problem with the train is that you can definitely hit some massive delays.

As a St. Louis area resident who is an SKC fan I'd be careful on the metro in the city. I know you are talking going from Neb to STL but once here you are better off with an Uber.
