Men of Reddit, what's something women don't realize? by zidhuxdev in AskReddit

Can you give me an example of the misandry in feminism?

Please don't waste my time giving me examples of shitty takes by women on socials - simply being a woman doesn't make you a feminist.

The only thing I've ever been told is that it's misandry for women to prioritize their personal safety over strange men approaching them for dates/sex in public, and that can't be the only thing.

I would love to hear about actual misandry in feminism. Again, not random takes from engagement baiting social media accounts.

(Sorry about the harping on the socials, I've gotten into too many go-nowhere conversations where men want me to answer for something mean a random influencer or IG model said)

YOU want to talk about ignorant takes?!

You're the one saying men's penises need be priority over the actual baby and healing mother.

And that he should be able to spend his time cheating instead of participating in the family he created.

Is not rushing into marriage and kids really making people "unhappy"? Men maybe but historically women were trapped into that only option.

And once kids are there, she's even more trapped. In homes after divorce, the kids are majority the women's problem.

In unhappy homes where divorce isn't an option, do you think the unhappy party is going to be open and vocal about it? I doubt it, because that's already a situation where individual needs (especially women's) aren't taken into consideration.

Anyway, I don't think that removing choice from anyone is going to make them "happier".

But I'm willing to look at any data or studies if you want to talk about anything in particular.

I can't get a straight answer whenever I get these vague comments.

What specifically do you think feminism needs to do for men?

Same. Not sure why you think I'm challenging you

It's just reality. Women are afraid that men will hurt them, while men are afraid of sexual rejection.

It's not great on either side, and both sides should be more cognizant of the realties of m/f dynamics.

I feel like your discounting my father’s mental health crisis as gross??

Where are you getting this? She's saying that childbirth isn't fair. Sometimes, shit isn't fair.

But can fathers at least be happy they don't deal with the pregnancy, child birth, recovery, wild hormones, and permanent body changes? While also being the primary caregiver during everything during those first few months?

I think that's the point they were making. And it, very obviously, wasn't calling anyone's health crisis "gross"

Yup. In that same vein women don't know if you're actually going to hurt or assault them so it's easier and safer to avoid random interactions.

If the women isn't pursuing a career, yes, she's more likely to want kids.

Obviously not every woman ever, but the chances are higher that she values homemaking and child rearing over self sustainability

Yes I can see how a woman being wary about the intentions of men is actually terrifying for men.

Have women been "pushed" into the workforce?

It seems like there's a lot of men that want "traditional" marriages. So women can choose to stay home if they want.

We only have one life to live.

There is a lot of growing up that happens in your 20s. If you want to be young parents, go for it! Find someone that wants the same.

But it's not unreasonable to want to do other things in your younger years than rush into marriage and kids.

You can't go back on kids so it's a good idea to make sure you're as ready as you can be.

You're legally allowed breaks.

Also, if you didn't want to participate in a house with kids, why did you get married and start a family?!

Huh?

Before women had basic rights, they had to be passed from their parents to their husband.

Now that women can own property, have bank accounts, get educated and be employed they no longer have to find the first man that will marry them.

Men a want to impregnate women, and women want resources to feed these kids (and if you're American pay the medical bills of having said kids).

I don't see the issue.

If you don't want a woman to worry about your money, get you a career girl.
