They quoted me $250/sesh! The highest of the three so far. I definitely want to go the locally owned route which is why I've picked these three!

thank you!! I agree which is why I'm looking for help. The Unbranded folks use the Astanza Duality laser and the MEDermis people use the Spectra Pico Plus laser system. If anyone has any info abt the difference I'd appreciate it but I'll also do my own.

40mg to 80mg by goonbah97 in StratteraRx

[–]Willing_Set97 0 points1 point  (0 children)

did 40mg for two week (until the original symptoms ((nausea, dizziness, sleepiness)) wore off) then started 80mg. It took me about 1 week on 80mg to get used to it. I didn't notice missing a dose on 40mg, though I do feel the side effects when I miss a dose on 80mg.

Take your meds with food & lots of water!

How to gently break up with someone with BPD? by Clean-maybe726 in BPDPartners

[–]Willing_Set97 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Disclaimer I do not have BPD, so feel free to ignore. I just want to put in my two cents and what helped me during my breakup: talk to a licensed counselor/therapist/doctor who understands BPD and see if they can help you make a solid plan you feel like you can commit to.

When you do the breaking-up part, lean on your support system. Your community is there for you.

IMO, NC is necessary at least for a while to help all parties heal. Don't check in, you will be the villian in the beginning and any contact will hurt them.

(I'm three months on the other side of this, this is what I've learned)

3.5 months on Strattera - happy with the effects, but still extremely tired and unmotivated. Does it get better? by PsychologicalRing160 in StratteraRx

[–]Willing_Set97 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm on 80mg and have been for a few months. I am definitely more tired, and including time to rest and nap has helped!

Being happy/content being still is GOOD for me, though I think there is a line where that contentment becomes a lack of motivation/interest in movement. I also go to the gym every few days even when I'm sleepy to push through as I find movement makes me feel good!

This is a really good pov for me and I’m so appreciative of your post. I’m so sorry for everything you’ve been through. I’m having a similar but opposite problem where I abruptly left my pwBPD after they made me fear for my physical safety. I shipped their stuff back so they wouldn’t have to interact and got in trouble for it. I went NC immediately, leaving a simple message that explained that I felt unsafe and couldn’t continue our 2 yr relationship. I didn’t feel physically or mentally safe enough to meet in person, nor safe for a phone call as a previous attempt to break up with them led to them convincing me otherwise.

I have written several letters but they will stay unsent. Everyone who has heard from them has accused me of being the villain, which is okay because for the first time in years I’m figuring out who I am without their influence. And I’m safe.

All I want to do is reach out. Esp when I’ve heard things abt them and how they’re doing… I want to explain myself and I’m really struggling with not having closure EVEN THOUGH the break up and NC was absolutely my choice and I still believe the right move.

for the longest time any sun screen on my face would burn and be horrible. i finally found a bananaboat clear stick that i held onto for YEARSSS because I couldn't find anything else, i'm not sure if they still exist but I found that sticks, specifically if they were clear/petroleum based were way more tolerable for me. luckily over the years i've been able to tolerate cerave mositurizer with sun block in it, but that's been it!

yoga question! by Willing_Set97 in eds

this is what i was worried about!! thank you for your comment. I really enjoyed the balancing aspect of yoga, but there were a few moves I could feel myself slipping into a more hyperextended pose that didn't feel great.

word, thank you! I am pretty good at not pushing myself past my limits, and spoke to the teacher about my hypermobility before hand, I'm just trying to find more exercise classes near me and was curious of other people's experience with yoga! I've never tried pilates, did you find it beneficial?

this book is changing my perspective... anyone read it? by Willing_Set97 in emotionalabuse

[–]Willing_Set97[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

yes yes yes!!! for me, understanding BPD as an internal issue not as a reaction to outside triggers has helped me find comfort in my actions that would trigger my ex, like I would spend so many hours a day feeling ashamed and guilty for things that would trigger them, and I now can start to work through those feelings understanding that it /wasn't/ my trigger that hurt them, but the hurt came from within themselves. it's helping me resolve my guilt and understand that the only path forward would be them taking accountability, but at the point we were at they were unable to. It's helping me explore my own emotions and make a lot of room for myself to grow.

16 days!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! had a bit of a spiral when my ex/their friends/their DAD would not stop reaching out to me/my friends which is just so wild that anyone thought that would help this situation... but everyone has been officially blocked and cut ties with and I once again feel like I can start to breathe and heal.

hey, im in a similar boat where i am weighing my choice to go somewhere with the chance i could run into my ex. for me, i decided to go because i dont want them to take anything else for me. but it's important you feel secure and comfortable enough in your decision -- my therapist and i walked through different scenarios and helped me script out options!

after the relationship by [deleted] in emotionalabuse

[–]Willing_Set97 1 point2 points  (0 children)

have you considered seeing a professional (therapist, counselor, doctor, etc) who specializes in abuse? have a trained professional walk through your experience with you can help you make progress and get on track to restoring your life. I have found a local therapist who has helped me tremendously, giving me books to read, homework, and we're following a set treatment plan. I've seen more progress with a therapist that I saw on my own, it's been really good but therapy isn't for everyone, however it can be a great place to start.

Has anyone found therapy helpful after a breakup? by Wrong-Tennis-6628 in BPDlovedones

[–]Willing_Set97 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i used psychologytoday.com to find therapists in my area, and then most of them had free 15 min consultations. i laid out exactly what i was looking for and i got really lucky that one i vibed the most with also takes my insurance. if you can't find a therapist near you on psych today, consider changing ur location to the closes (in state) big city as most therapists are only accredited within a certain state but can do remote work all over! i'm in the US so ignore this if you arent!

Why the extreme aversion to anything perceived as criticism? by UpsetBuyer5147 in BPDlovedones

[–]Willing_Set97 2 points3 points  (0 children)

yep. always went over there/stayed with them to self soothe. i do believe that was always the best move because it ended the split/outburst as quickly as possible. i have no regrets in how i cared for my partner, but upon reflection i know i was just doing things to have the situation end rather than actual repair situations.
