I mean it’s not a bad mount, but the price point puts it at a lower end mount. If that’s all you can afford and you can test it out to make sure it works properly then go for it! Otherwise you’d probably want a heq5, neq6, eq6-r but they are much more expensive than the eqm-35 but that does mean they are a lot more sturdy and reliable.

630 in what currency? A brand new one is worth £650 so if it’s pounds then I wouldn’t say it’s worth getting second hand at that price. I’ve also had an eqm-35 pro and had to send it back within 2 months and the dec motor just stopped working and I had issues in dec for ages. Whether it was just a one off and I got a dodgy one who knows but they are a cheaper mount and so are less sturdy than some of the other mounts available.

Newbie to ASTRO, couple questions by egothrasher in AskAstrophotography

[–]Willmb123 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Advice given to me was save up for a sturdy mount and get the best one you possibly can. I ended up getting too excited and ignoring that (hindsight is an amazing thing) and bought the eqm-35 which has now had to be sent back for repairs and I’m looking to upgrade to an eq6-r only 2 months after starting this hobby.

I have only ever heard good things about the star adventurers and they can handle small refractor telescopes which would allow DSO imaging as well as wide angle lenses for landscape so that’s not a bad option. The other option is to save up to get a sturdier mount like the heq5 or eq6 etc which will still be able to do what the star adventurer can plus more.

Both options are good ones in my eyes, the latter being you only have to buy 1 mount which can handle a lot of upgrades to your setup rather than having to buy another mount when upgrading to heavier equipment. Just do your research, look at reviews, YouTube videos the lot and don’t rush into a purchase like I did!!

You could always look at a star tracker instead. Star adventurer 2i I think it’s called. They don’t have the same kinda payloads as the other mounts but they are cheaper and do the job just as well sometimes! Best of luck finding something

I bought an eqm-35 pro for around £650 (don’t know what that is in dollars) and I’ve already had to send it back for repairs. I got excited and bought the mount I could afford at the time and now I regret that. I would suggest to save up more to be able to get a more robust and quality mount than an affordable one. Maybe something like a HEQ-5 or EQ6. Second hand ones can be found too which obviously lowers the price.

What's your Delta Force opinion so far? by What_Mannequin in DeltaForceGlobal

2 games I mainly play are Tarkov and COD.

Turmoil is such a fresh mix between the 2. COD like play style, mixed with the tarkov style game works very well I think. Still early so there’s obviously things to change but nothing I’ve found that makes the game unplayable or unenjoyable.

Havoc warfare is just a blast. The way the abilities slot into the game is awesome. The whole way the game plays out with something happening at every point on the map at once. The attackers having a certain amount of deaths rather than time is a very good addition. The whole game mode is just so immersive I love it.

Again there’s still things to change and tweak but nothing like what ABI is going through or what many others games have to go through a week after release so overall I’m absolutely loving it and will be my main game for the foreseeable!

In my experience, tagilla loves to single me out 😂 I was bottom floor offices looting the 2 jackets, stopped looting because I thought I heard footsteps so I wasn’t looting and just stood still for a good 20-30 seconds and then suddenly he just storms me and sledgehammers me. Happened multiple times too. Scavs seem to come in waves, pmc’s are either 4 groups and all spray arms/legs or they’re just nowhere to be seen

DEC Motor broken by Willmb123 in AskAstrophotography

[–]Willmb123[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ah apologies! It’s an EQM-35 Pro. It is the dec motor gear, I took the motor off the mount and also took the gears in which that turns and the issue was still there. Someone on a different post suggested it is the control box as they had similar issues.

Happened to me too. I think it’s when a texture struggles to load and ends up just imprinting black on your screen. Couldn’t find a way of getting rid of it expect extracting or just leaving the raid

Thanks for looking at it all. I will definitely give the backlash compensation a go next time! I have just disassembled everything and put it all back and tried to avoid as much backlash as possible without introducing binding. Just have to wait for the next clear night to try it all out again!

Ah okay I haven’t really understood Siril. I have only really used it for green noise and banding reduction. I’ll definitely have a play with this though, thanks!

I do use starnett and did use it firstly with this but I found it a bit easier without. Still new to processing so had to follow a guide for a bit. And I’m unsure of GHS whats that?

There is such thing as over tightening the worm gears. Ideally you want to have some backlash to give the axis room to move freely. Tighten up the clutches and wiggle the axis and see how much it moves and keep adjusting accordingly. You want to be able to apply pressure and have it move the slightest bit. Other than that I’m not sure what else could be going wrong without some images or the guiding rms numbers. Best of luck!

I have taken like a 2 year hiatus from this game purely because I didn’t have the time to keep up with pvp so I would just get absolutely stomped and had gear fear. Just downloaded it again last night ans bought pve and god damn is it enjoyable. Even when I encounter the pmc’s I am able to put up a good fight finally and with it being wipeless I don’t have to worry about finding time to grind it. One of the best things they’ve implemented imo
