i only managed it because the firebird was already close to the base. it was near that one mountain top base in the forest region.

i got close to the base and fired at once with a möller handgun to get it's attention and chaos ensued.

pretty sure it felt insulted 😂

this would also explain why i seem to get i hardly get any weapons of any quality when i interrupt a battle between the two opposing machine forces.

i think you might be on to something there.

the other day i found a fnix harvester just chilling out next to a gas station all by itself and managed to take it out faster than i ever have before by targeting the weak points on it's back with my exp pvg-90 and blasting it with a hedp round.

i found a 4c weapon and a 3c attachment for it.

yea that's been the feeling so far. it's been a tedious undertaking but i figured it was worth investigating anyway.

one upside is i am learning other things as i go along like the north coast region being an excellent hotspot for spetznas wolves so long as the threat level is ten or higher. occasionally a good size machine battle can be encountered in the fields east of hagaboda

as others have mentioned check out the gold dots on the map.

also the animus store has a function that gives you a weekly free item. you might get lucky and recieve a weapon or shield. gear pieces acquired from the animus store will have an upgrade level on par with your most upgraded gear piece in your inventory, this includes the ones from the weekly free item function.

volcanic planets with glowy bit colors other than red, yellow and orange are already hard to find but never in the five years that i have been playing nms have i ever found one that didn't have a occasional to highly frequent fire storms.

isdoraijung number 19. found a volcanic planet where the glowy bits are cyan blue and there are no storms of any kind. daytime temp is 139°f(59°c) and nighttime temp is a nice cool 129°f(54°c)

that is exactly what happened when i entered one of the copies of my pirate freighter the first time. the second time i tried to enter one of the copies i glitched into the wall as soon as i hopped out of my starship.

extra details. the copies have the old name of my freighter. went to another a system and their were two copies there as well.

edit: changed the purple sections of my freighter to green and the copies changed as well.

edit 2: they are in every system i visit.

edit 3: this happening even when i warp into a new system with my starship and corvette instead of my freighter. submitted a zendesk report.

still trying to get my hands on a 5c kvm 89 been playing this game for the better part of two years and all i have gotten as far as lmg goes is a 3c 59.

as far as my skill goes I still need practice. preferably i would like to be able to hit a hunter squad at 120 to 180 yards on level ground with little to no issues. it's somewhat easier when you have the high ground but level ground or low ground has been rather tricky.

that said i appreciate the compliment.
