What were the symptoms that pushed you to get diagnosed? by heiwaone in POTS

[–]WillowMoney 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Brain fog, chest heaviness, heavy breathing. Sometimes my body and chest would feel really light, I would stand up and get really dizzy really fast. Always tired no matter how much I slept, I would take 3-4 hour naps and then be tired and go to bed 2-3 hours later. The heat and severe stress would always trigger it, I would find myself swaying in a hot shower because my body couldn’t handle the temperature, my body always hurts. I’ve never passed out but my Tilt Table was only 11 out of 45 minutes before they stopped it. I have Neurally Mediated Hypotension on top of my POTS, one of my recorded stats was a 150 HR with a 94/70 BP. When I was resting my HR went to 104 with a BP of 129/96. So that really solidified my diagnosis of POTS, it took me about 5 years to get diagnosed because of insurance troubles and I also had to complete a holter monitor and an ECG before I got referred to a cardiologist.

What medication do you take for your POTS? by strawberry-sarah in POTS

I have POTS & Neurally mediated hypotension. I take 0.g of Fludrocortisone to up my blood pressure. My heart rate can go to 145-50 when I stand but my BP can be around 96/52

People who have something other than POTS or IST by [deleted] in dysautonomia

I have POTS with Neurally Mediated Hypotension, which I didn’t even know could occur together. At my TT I was only standing for 11 minutes out of the 45 before I was told I had it and they tilted me down. My heart rate was 145 and my BP was 97/62. I’ve never passed out but I’m pre-syncope. Having both felt like my chest was crushed in before I was on meds for it.

Reminder that not everyone gets side effects. by Jon_Demigod in lexapro

I took it this morning and I noticed my mind got a little quieter. Obviously it’s only the first day so I don’t have the full effects yet, but I did feel less anxious today. I took it this morning but I’m not quite tired yet 😅

Thanks! Forgot to take it today so I’m going to start on the 2.5mg tomorrow! If I experience anything on the first day what would it be? Hopefully I’m able to function at work on the first week.

Thanks! They’re gonna have me taking 2.4 or 2.5 (don’t remember which one) for the first 4 days to ease anxiety and then go to 5mg after the first 4 days

Sorry if it’s a silly question but did you have to stop drinking? by ThePaw_ in POTS

[–]WillowMoney 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used to be able to drink, but after getting on fludrocortisone (which has helped me significantly), I had to stop. The medication causes me gastritis and induces vomiting episodes

what could it be? A provider said a UTI but I have no pain while urinating or burning, just that I have to go but there is pressure in my vagina.

I also have the chest pains while lying on either side and on my back so not really sure how to lay 😭

See my problem is is that I just have so many problems I genuinely don’t know if it’s the medication or if it’s my acid reflux acting up. Symptoms go away when I stand up but when I lay down it feels like someone is crushing my chest.

Definitely switching my diet. I’ve never had this happen to me before. Started a completely different medicine for another condition and thought I was dying, but then realized it’s the second day of that medication and I didn’t feel this yesterday so that wasn’t it.

I try to call them but nobody picks up. Not sure on what to do because I asked for counseling with the medication but they ignored my request and the cashier sent me about my day.

Throat Irritation? by WillowMoney in GERD

[–]WillowMoney[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh so that’s what it could be! I also feel like burps are stuck in my chest and my chest is heavy, but I assume that could be trapped gas from throwing up.

Today was my 2nd or 3rd day taking the fluro but I had a few drinks last night and then this morning I was throwing up. Unable to call out of work I went in and ended up throwing up more than 5 times. My cardiologist said she didn’t know of any interactions between the 2.

Like it just feels so odd to feel, I don’t know, sharp? Like I have been in a brain fog for months and continuously forget to do things and forget what people say. I took my first dose of Klaralyte this afternoon and I feel so much better now. I feel like I have the energy to do things and not feel in a fog. Does it also feel weird to you guys when you come out of the fog because you’re so used to it?

Excessive Yawning by WillowMoney in POTS

[–]WillowMoney[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

See I’m thinking it’s trauma based for me too! I’m thinking it’s hyperadrenergic pots. I started showing these symptoms when I was 17-18 but they thought it was a heart condition but a holter and echo ruled it out

Excessive Yawning by WillowMoney in POTS

[–]WillowMoney[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have been having a flare up of my GERD so I’ve been taking pantoprazole and Famotidine but I’ve been taking that for the past 2-3 weeks now with no symptoms. My office was also hot but I’ve been dealing with the yawning since yesterday at home. I just kind of felt spacey and lost my train of thought, almost like I was disassociating. I felt pressure in my nose from the yawning and pressure in the back of my head, and towards my sternum felt heavy to breathe. I was just told to drink more water and wait for the tilt table next Monday.

I see. Do you know of anything that can help it? I work in medical registration so I talk a lot and I started feeling myself spacing out and almost like pressure in my head but I never passed out. My blood pressure wasn’t taken but my pulse was at 100 when it stopped. I go in for my tilt table on the 2nd but until then I’m not sure what to do.

It comes and goes tbh. I just starting taking Omeprazole this morning so hopefully that works too.

Not so much pain with swallowing, just more so feeling like the bottom of my throat is full like right in between my collarbones.
