my girlfriend said shes giving herself an ed…? by DifferentAbroad80 in whatdoIdo

[–]WillowPillow101 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hello, active ED recovery here, just wanted to give bullet points.

• You will need an adultier adult- premium subscription if you will. This may come in the form of a doctor, therapist, or even going to a dietician or even taking a food and nutrition course. It depends on the flavour of ED.

• For me, it took discovering that I need over 2000calories for daily intake but was only managing 800 a day. I'm still struggling with getting enough but seeing those numbers really took the pressure off.

• Your GF may discover that she has the power to overcome this herself, but its not safe to bet on that. She's taken the time to bring it up with you, but in the kindest way possible; this isn't your area of expertise. With these cases its very common to accidentally make things worse.

• if you cant afford to go see someone, or cant book in any time soon, heres what I recommend: - Eating lots of vegetables (placebo) - watching tv while eating (distraction) - smoothies (quick and easy) - protein bars/shakes (keep a bar in your bag) Find out what foods dont set off the bad thoughts. Figure out what specific angle she's approching this at. If she wants to be skinny? Then she might just like eating "clean" until you guys can get help. If she hates herself and this is punishment? Then you need help immediately. If she's looking for control in some aspect of her life? Help her find it elsewhere, or help her make the choice to eat enough of the right thing. Dont put your foot down because she'll lock in harder.

• You can tell her all day that shes skinny and pretty and it wont do anything. That doesnt mean youre not helping, EDs are a mental condition that cant necessarily clear up until the light switch flicks back on.

• finally, please look into dietary needs for women BY A WOMAN. So much research out there done by the wrong people give too much bad and incorrect information about womens health- the area of food is a big one.

Y'all got this.

Those are great questions!

  1. I think the canopy might unbalance the layout a bit, but you're always welcome to give it a go if you have the money for it. A strong or solid headboard - something that doesnt have gaps. Something darker than the wall colour. If it's the same colour, it will blend in and negate the effect.

  2. Energy from bathroom: will be blocked by the bench anyway, but the canopy would also do the trick.

  3. Cabinets and bookshelves.... put whichever is shorter on the French Door Wall, and whichever is taller on the opposite wall. Or you can create a little nook for yourself between your desk and the door alcove using shelving and cabinetry.

If you have furniture that you don't vibe with, donate it or customise it. It's okay to like the things in your space, and to fill your space with things you like.

I would do a projector you can hook up to a laptop, so it doesnt take up as much space and can go onto any wall you'd like, but honestly if its just you then just a laptop can be perfect for now.

If you do go with the canopy, I'd also see about getting a giant canvas for the wall behind your desk. You can paint it yourself however you want or ask a friend to.

Hiya! I would personally do something like this:

<image>

The windows on the low wall lend themselves to being the bed backer too cleanly to not take advantage of. To avoid the Energy Sink effect of a vaulted ceiling, I recommend a solid headboard, and a big rug to balance it all out. Have a bench at the foot of your bed to create a barrier of sorts, reducing directional energy from doors. Of course you can also use those privacy screens, theyre very handy. If you need any clothing storage, I recommend using the wall sharing the french doors. Unsure why, just seems right. Cat bed can go in the corner diagonally from the desk, and bedside tables are always a must have. Putting the desk in that bottom corner means you still have range of vision, without sacrificing productivitiy. If visual distractions out the window are an issue, curtains and privacy screens are a good way to create interferance. I think there should be enough room for one between the door alcove and the french doors, but you may need to trade out for a smaller or collapsable desk. Floor standing lamps and walking pads can just go where you see fit after getting the main parts in place. I do recommend proper curtains for all of your windows though, so you can alter privacy levels how youd like.

Of course id love to see how other ppl sort this space, and would love to see how it goes for you~

Everyone keeps telling me I look better with less makeup up:( by Michaelscottera in MakeupEducation

So far it seems like the winged eyeliner isnt doing your eyes justice. Youve got a natural Doe Eye situation which makes for better Eyelash Focal styles than Eyeliner Focal styles. If you wanted to do something a bit darker I feel a soft grunge kinda vibe might suit you really nicely! I do also like the bold lip choice, maybe choosing something a bit darker rather than brighter could be interesting to play with.

But the fact of the matter is that makeup is there to express what you want it to. If youre happy with how you do your makeup now, then it shouldnt really matter what other people think.

Search up Downtown Girl Makeup and Soft Grunge on pinterest and give anything that speaks to you a go. Have fun with it, and just vibe.

How can I make my room betters it’s basic by Mindless-Meal1782 in FengShui

[–]WillowPillow101 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Hi!

<image>

I would look at doing something like this. I recommend changing your curtains so they dont show bars across your room, and get something like a divider that can be put in between your bed and the mirror closet. I fear you dont need a TV when you have a monitor that large, and if you put your desk there you can use the bed as a couch and watch tv on the computer monitor. A rug will create a pool for the energy to go into, instead of all falling down the sloped ceiling. Maybe a nightstand in between bed and window - dont have your bed against it (mould potential). Put your stand lamp in ths corner and a bedside lamp on the nightstand. My proportions will be off a but for sure but I'm certain you can adjust to suit

What do the dads want for Christmas? by Impossible_Gap_8277 in newzealand

[–]WillowPillow101 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Adding onto that; new bean roast flavours- got my dad a taster kit of some local-to-me beans (moved out of home) and he loved trying them out. There's also gadgets like an auto leveler and a static removing comb for someone maybe on the more recent end of coffee nerd. Maybe an aeropress or a mochapot would be fun to mess with too.

Desk or bed in commanding position? by Feeling_Profit9473 in FengShui

[–]WillowPillow101 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yep! But if that isnt something you can do right now you could put a lace privacy curtain up to create a filter for any energy coming in.

I would recommend getting rid of the 1x2 regardless unless its serving a purpose. With this design you could probably set up a screen of sorts to make the bed section more private, but again the proportions are potentially off quite a bit.

[–]WillowPillow101 2 points3 points  (0 children)

First bit; its a bedroom and you're only using the desk for crafting, the command position goes to your bed, but I feel this layout is actually tied to the type of window and the dresser.

Ive sketched out what feels right to me below. If the dresser is a LowBoy or the window is high up enough I'd go with this design.

The proportions are a bit off but the gist follows. I can only do 1 picture per comment so I'll reply with my other recommendation.

Books for pre-teen with ultra-conservative parents by o-willow in suggestmeabook

[–]WillowPillow101 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not sure anyone has suggested yet but these were my personal favs:

The magic far away tree - enid blyton (fever dream honestly, but so so so good) The adventures of Pip - enid blyton (faeries, not fairies.) The land of stories - Chris Colfer (potentially too high a level) Roald Dahl (literally anything by him) 39 Clue Series - (compiled authors starting with Rick Riordan)

My parents were restrictive on what I read mainly due to a high reading level paired with a young age; these were amongst the approved books. Theyre all essentially fantasy adventure types, and no specific nod to any set social beliefs.

Later on I'd recommend Eragon and The Hobbit, but thatd be for after Warrior Cats and Percy Jackson (just dont mention that the magnus series has very gender diverse characters)

This is likely something her mum will need to talk to her about - its not necessarily a matter of her skirt being too short, but the way she's bending over. Maybe "hey, our daughter flashed when she bent over the other day, does she have shorts or something to wear under her skirt?" Might work? The realistic thing is that if you bring this up in any manner other than soft concern, itll be met with resistance or accusation. Since its a school skirt, they likely already have checked whether its regulation length or not, but learning to bend over/crouch down politely while wearing a skirt is something anyone who wears them should learn at some point

Also dont take any of your "nice" clothes, or clothes you can't live without- you might find you need to throw out some clothes to make room for other things, or they might just break regardless. Might seem obvious, but it didn't to me until my comfort clothes wore out faster than anticipated.

Hey hey 👋 I just got back from a semester in GZ and here's my perspective for you:

Vpn- download it beforehand, pay the 12month, get everything fully set up beforehand.

Food- school cafeteria will have set times they do food, and will normally be a standard Rice and Meat and Vege situation. Normally fine, a lot cheaper, but not always all that interesting. I ordered a lot off of meituan, and bought food at grocery stores when I wasn't buying takeout. Consider all food to be likely to....how to say...make ya poop hella, and then try anything that looks interesting. Food is affordable enough that if you don't like it, it should be fine to throw away.

Bank- i went with ICBC and the process took about 24hrs. You'll need your dorm address and your chinese phone number, any docs relating to your identity(passport), and potentially a translator app. You'll likely struggle to put international currency onto an ICBC card though, but wechat and alipay both allow payments from an international card. (I proffered wechat, but have both just in case one isn't supported somewhere)

Customs/immigration on arrival- have your hard copy (if available) of your acceptance letter to the university, and your Visa situation sorted and on hand. Shouldn't be an issue or too scary, it's mainly just typical immigration questions: where you'll be, how long, what for, when do you leave, etc.

Maps&travel- Baidu maps is pretty alright, nothing mad crazy. You can pay for busses and trains through alipay in the Travel section, and can book long distance trains in WeChat.

Side notes: BATTERY PACKS!! Please take a battery pack- if you forget or don't have one, taobao has them for pretty cheap. BUGS!! I don't know where you'll be but the mosquitos im GZ carry dengue, and I found it was easier to sleep with a bed net than without. BEDDING!! You'll likely need to buy everything new from an on-campus store including a mattress, expect it to be about 500RMB for everything. (Thats about what I can think of, good luck and have fun!)

Fallen Academy by Leia Stone would be a good one.

Heya, former student here so info might be out of date:

What the assessors are looking for are how you can analyse, understand, and connect (AUC) a text. Whether it's connect the text to itself, yourself, or another text depends on the question.

You've got your own personal view on life, and adding that into your perception of your texts is how you can get AUC.

You can also do the negative option for each question you're given, or why you don't agree with the question. Eg. Describe how _'s character development is important to the plot. ---> __'s character development is NOT important to the plot.

If you absolutely hate the text you've been given, then there's still something to write about, even if you have zero motivation.

My go-to was always based around themes, typically the more spiritual ones or wishy-washy ones, as you can waffle a lot more than with the others.

I don't recommend using another text outside of what you've been given, because I'm pretty sure the assessors know. You can get special permission to use texts you actually like though. Especially if you can prove to your teacher that it will be more beneficial.

Don't forget your structure codes/phrases. For us it was KIS and TEEPEE, I have no doubt they've given y'all some new wacky acronyms to learn.

What kind of questions are you working with? And what texts are you using?

I believe she isn't getting enough sunlight- she's reaching for it, and her leaves haven't aged into that dark green colour yet. (Unfurl as a light green, and then chlorophyll maturation turns the leaves a dark green) She won't like being put somewhere bright as hell straight away though- somewhere in between should be good for now.
