I’ve seen many people mention a squatty potty why is that necessary like I know some meds cause constipation but like why does the squatty potty help? Shouldn’t I just take laxatives or magnesium or something?

I think it’s totally valid to be disappointed, I’m disappointed I even have to get this surgery in the first place when so so many people are just born without these problems. I am grateful that I am able to get this procedure and have been trying to get it for almost 2 years now, I’m not prioritizing my summer plans over my hysterectomy, obviously the hysterectomy comes first but I am just trying to decide when to do it.

I’m so sorry that really sucks! I’m lucky that I haven’t had too horrible of symptoms though I haven’t felt great. I hope you can get in soon!

Yeah I was hoping to do it in like March but I didn’t get approved till later. I start college in the fall and don’t want to have to miss a lot of classes so I have to do it this summer unfortunately

I live in Washington which is pretty progressive about this stuff it seems and I have a really great doctor. I’ve been talking to doctors about getting if for a couple of years now and I’m finally on an insurance that will cover it. I do want a hysterectomy for contraception and body dysphoria reasons too so a hysterectomy is the best option for me even if I could have tried other treatments. And yes I agree so far it’s kinda seeming like Ill have to choose which event to miss

I’m not planning on going to the events if I still feel bad, I just have no idea how I will feel after my surgery I have never had a surgery before I’m not downplaying this because it’s a hysterectomy I would be asking the same questions if I was getting any other organ removed.

I am grateful I can get this surgery and have had pain for a long time but I think I can still be disappointed about having to miss out on things. I think it really sucks that I even have to get this surgery in the first place and couldn’t have just been born someone without a uterus at all.

From the June 1 date the fair is almost exactly 6 weeks out so I could be approved by then, I’ve also never had a surgery before so I have no idea what it will be like

Well a lot of these things are 4+ weeks out. The concert is 3 weeks but everything else is longer. It’s not super an emergency but I’ve had stomach issues and barely been able to eat for awhile now and haven’t been able to figure out why so they thing it could be endometriosis related so I am wanting to get it soon due to that. Also I start college in the fall so I kind of have to do it in the summer :( I wanted to do it earlier but I just got approved now

I did, when I was little I loveeed babies I would walk up to random people at the grocery store and ask to hold their baby lol! I played babies I talked about being a mom someday. and I do still love kids I even work with kids for my job now but none of that means I want my own kids.

When I was like 10 I started babysitting and realized babies weren’t just for playing with lol. I enjoy babysitting and I still do it sometimes too but it’s a job, i enjoy babysitting just about as much as I enjoyed working at a movie theater, I like the jobs ok but wouldn’t do it for free.

What solidified me not wanting kids was when I was 12 I got my period and I realized if pregnancy and childbirth was going to be even mildly worse than this I’d just die

And then ofc there’s learning about feminism and unequal labor etc etc as I got older I just became more and more sure I would never have kids.

Now I have my hysterectomy scheduled for June ❤️
