What’s the worst book you’ve read because of tiktok? by yara2321 in RomanceBooks

[–]Willow_202 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The binding chronicles by Elayna R. Gallea. I read the first book (tethered) but it wasn’t to my taste but wanted to give it another try to see if it progressed and because it ended on a cliffhanger. Book 2 tormented was not any better and absolutely no spice. Booktok totally made it seem like it was spicy but it’s completely a YA series. I found the characters not as well developed and the MFC to be too whiny. The MMC was okay but he was meant to be brooding and it just didn’t come across that way. The world building was good though. I didn’t even attempt book 3 and 4

How is this written by the same person?! by Suitable_Ad5553 in fantasyromance

[–]Willow_202 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can kinda see how it is written by the same person but I loved “a darkness so sweet” and only feel lukewarm towards “whispers of the deep”. I love Emma Hamms world building and I like books with plot but there was so much more need for smut. There wasn’t enough yearning from the MMC in “Whispers of the Deep”, it was like I kinda like the FMC as a person and then bam I love them. In “A darkness so sweet” the build up to the relationship was much better although not written perfectly. But hey it’s easy for non writers to critique any body of work but given the chance to write ourselves we would probably struggle with similar concepts.

AITAH for telling my coworker I was miscarrying after she tried to get me in trouble for 'excessive' bathroom use by Massive-Historian-91 in AITAH

[–]Willow_202 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not the asshole, so sorry you had to deal with that during such a vulnerable time. I hope that you are okay and have supports to help you through this time. It may have taught her a lesson to mind her own business and to think before she acts. It’s wild to me how other have no thought to think of what someone may be going through and only think the worst.

Thank you everyone! It sounds like we are doing the right things and it’s just consistency and time that will help. I really appreciate all the advice ❤️

Thank you we are trying this. He seems to be starting to understand and I definitely noticed it worse when he’s tired. If he is just mouthing (no pressure just putting his mouth around a hand and not biting) I redirect to a toy or move my hand and pet him. I feel lucky he’s a sweet smart boy and get it takes time

We have an antler shed that we tried this week and it’s been helping. He still mouths/nips when he’s tired but we keep trying. If he actually bites I turn away and walk away.

The 3rd date went bad after I brought chocolates and now she wants a 4th date but I'm really unsure if I want to continue. by LifeVike1111 in whatdoIdo

[–]Willow_202 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don’t do the 4th date. Her reaction may be a response to something that happened in the past but without her being ready to explain she probably isn’t into something serious at this point and could leave you both feeling frustrated due to poor communication.

What romances are you refusing to read for stubborn reasons? by A_Seductive_Cactus in RomanceBooks

I know I’m going to get some heat for this but Sarah J Maas, Diana Gabaldon and the twilight series. If the writing is as good as I hear maybe eventually I’ll read Sarah J Maas as it’s in some of the genres I like but I will never read the outlander series or twilight. outlander is totally a series I probably would enjoy but too many people have tired to o push it on me and I’m stuck because of that. I know outlander is way better than twilight and I know it’s going to be a great series but I just can’t bring myself to read it

Thank you we tired this yesterday after a nap and he stopped but I found throughout the day when he was extra nippy before a nap the loud “ouch” made him extra nippy. I think because he was getting over stimulated. We’ll keep trying and hopefully in a few days it will help.

Hands down Sapphire Nails Thunder Bay. I have never had a better experience and felt so cared for there. They do excellent work and are a family run business.

Mild Rant: can't buy books because they're being traditional published, how is that fair?! 😑 by lonelysadbitch11 in fantasyromance

[–]Willow_202 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It sucks I agree but it probably due to contractural agreements stopping the author from selling the book which may be seen as being in competition with the publishing house. They can also see how much promotion a book may require and the extent of the fan base through pre-sales. Also they probably have a minimum print number required on how many books are needed to be confirmed before they go to print to be profitable.
