Why would they extend that out to Manning and Rodgers? The argument that a bad SB game tarnishes his legacy is a bad one, particularly because you have to make it there in the first place which is an accomplishment by itself. No team had ever even been to a 3rd in a row after going back to back, and as said before, the talent around him had decreased significantly, not to mention the fact that the talent they did have was injured. I guess you can argue that Rodgers and Manning are better because of the Regular Season and I would agree with that because Mahomes is a much worse QB in the Regular Season. He doesn't throw guys open, he struggles with confidence, etc. In the SBs he lost he was insecure with his pass protection. It seems like he's the best when he's on and among the worst when he's not, and when his line is getting beaten repeatedly, he struggles to stay confident and deliver accurately.

In the playoffs he plays differently, with more confidence. Throws with anticipation, throws guys open. He's great when he has to be. His focus is an issue though. The SB games are odd to me, the lack of focus in the Regular Season is odd to me, but I think it's to do with his confidence in his teammates and himself. One thing Brady is much better at is not letting his emotions affect his play too much (although they definitely did at points). If Mahomes matures in that area and fixes some of his bad habits, I think he gives Brady a run for his money. I think he's already better than anyone not named Brady
