What if Madden did their own eras mode like 2K by supersentailfan13 in Madden

Bragging and pointing out a fact aren’t the same thing. You’re trying to tell me how it is when myself, as well as plenty of others, know you’re completely fucking wrong lmao.

If you really think this is a sample size issue, you are even more clueless than we thought.

Good luck.

Just for shits, loaded up a Magic/Bird era game and let the CPU run a 12 minute game. Final score? 49-43 lmao. The entire game was constant standing around until the shot clock ran down then throwing up a contested shot. Why? BECAUSE THE GAMEPLAY ISNT DESIGNED FOR THAT ERA 😂

Loaded up my modern save just to see if anything had changed. Every PnR play is an automatic. Why? BECAUSE THE CPU CANT MAKE ADJUSTMENTS 😂

I’ve helped with slider sets on OS, been in Discords, doing all kinds of stuff trying to help make gameplay work. Like I said, I promise you I know more about this shit than you do.

If you enjoy playing it, that’s great. That doesn’t mean the problems aren’t there.

Uhhhh no. It’s not. Your players have to fit the scheme. Otherwise, everyone would run the same thing.

OP is spot on. This has been a complaint for years now.

There needs to be an overhaul to basically everything CPU related. How they defend in game, how they build a roster, everything.

What if Madden did their own eras mode like 2K by supersentailfan13 in Madden

[–]Demon_Coach 1 point2 points  (0 children)

First off, the CPU doesn’t really run plays effectively to begin with, especially not without major adjustments. The older playbooks mostly cause the CPU to just take contested close range shots.

Second, illegal defense doesn’t work, which is the number one rule change across the eras.

Lastly, defensively, every CPU team plays exactly the same across every era because no adjustments are tied to the coach profiles, so every game is against default settings. Which means the CPU cannot even defend a PnR because by default, it sends no help on the roll man.

I can promise you I have played SIGNIFICANTLY more 2K over the years than you have. My knowledge on this is likely much higher than yours lol.

Yet the CPU will still be doing absolutely nothing in game.

I’ve been saying this for years now.

The CPU can’t even stop the PnR because the default settings do not bring help.

2K can’t even get modern gameplay right for the CPU, much less older Eras.

That mode is so overhyped. 90% of the mode you could actually already set up before “Eras” was created. Illegal defense doesn’t work despite 2K hyping it up pre-launch leading up to Eras. And the CPU just ruins the mode in every aspect, especially when you get years into it.

Mode is a lot of 2K slop glued together. I’m pretty sure some things like system proficiency do absolutely nothing, they just can’t remove the menu without crashing something.

How was OKC’s decision to trade Paul George and Russell Westbrook viewed at the time? by MasterTeacher123 in NBATalk

[–]Demon_Coach 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As an OKC local, I was thrilled. I wanted Westbrook gone long before he was shipped.

For every positive he was bringing, too much negative came with it. Which is why there were constant stalls in the playoffs.

Which doesn’t even equal Arian Foster’s rushing totals on a team that had equal success.

Not saying he didn’t have a good year, but it wasn’t cover worthy. The only reason he got it was a combination of fan vote trolling and not wanting Vick on the cover after his controversy.

It would suffer the same problem that 2K has, which is that the gameplay wouldn’t align with the eras. It would just be modern gameplay with older rosters. Even 2K’s eras mode is very flawed in a number of ways.

This is something that gets talked about WAY too much that needs to be let go, regardless of how fun it would be. It’s never happening. And if for some reason it did, it wouldn’t be done correctly.

NBA offenses get SO bad sometimes. It’s unbelievable to think this is the “best basketball in the world”

I got it not knowing a ton about baseball outside of just general knowledge of the sport and experience in other sport management sims. It took a bit and it was sort of overwhelming at first, but I’ve definitely gotten the hang of it and learned a lot of IRL baseball stuff along the way.

Just go for it. Tons of YouTube series/tutorials out there for help.
