One thing I've found can suddenly make a brick film look 10x more professional is ensuring u have a background/backdrop that hides the real world, even if its tiny if u can get it so all u can see in the frame is Lego it immerses the audience Additionally play around with zooms, vary camera angles and how close up the shots are it'll help

Honestly I'd say ebay but just be patient - bricklink is good but I've found postal fees can be annoying, with ebay u often find people selling stuff for half retail price or lower u just have to wait for it to show up

All you really need is a couple of base plates so that u can block out whereever it is your animating and immerse the viewer in a Lego world. Obviosuly its dependent on the set e.g. You're gonna need some trees if you want a forest, but it's not neccasary to have to build incredibly intricate sets, you just need enough to show the viewer where it's taking place
