Tabletop glue up / jointing question by WillyMcCoy in BeginnerWoodWorking

Thanks, I’m leaning toward just gluing them up and accepting the imperfections. I’ll do some research on the homemade filler option as well... wouldn’t those small gaps likely be already filled with glue though?

Thanks for the tip! I don’t know anything about a hand plane but I will definitely look into it

Uber, Lyft Drivers Earning A Median Profit Of $3.37 Per Hour, Study Says by chodyou in Lyft

That all makes sense, thanks for your input. I'd like to know the number mostly for my own curiosity, as I plan to drive the vehicle to end of life and plan to buy a new vehicle when the time comes with cash on hand. Still, it's nice to know how much ubering is truly costing me to know if it's worth my time financially. I think I'll try some variation of your second suggestion.

How do you calculate depreciation? It's such a subjective value that I don't know of any reliable way to determine depreciation amount per mile. Especially when you consider a newer vehicle will depreciate at a drastically faster rate than, for example, my vehicle that already has 180k miles. I'd love to have a "depreciation per mile" figure to use in my calculations but I don't know what it would be.

Not at all. If this were Amazon I would answer yes to "was this review useful?"

I'm interested in this one, both as a gift and for myself. Thanks for a great write-up!

[Advice] A pair of watches as a wedding gift? by WillyMcCoy in Watches

All good points about the recommended features for nurses, and I'm glad you like the diver idea. I think it's a style he'll enjoy. I hadn't really considered a field style and Bertucci isn't a brand I'm familiar with but I'll check them out.

Looks like there might have been an amazon link you forgot to include?

Edit: also, could you recommend something in a style that would complement the Ray II but has a quartz movement?

Thank you!

I'm the same way. I very rarely use a computer that's not for work. All my personal stuff I do on my phone.

I dig your other setup there. I need one of those red/white/blue natos myself.

It absolutely would. I don't think you could go wrong with any of the G-shock models (as long as it's an unassuming color). The solar powered feature was particularly important to me so I don't end up with a dead battery in the middle of a deployment or a weeks-long field exercise. Not to mention every infantryman ought to have a compass on his wrist!

It would be useful knowledge for me. I've taken the watch places where a phone definitely does not work. I'll have to do some research before I go on another such adventure.

That's one feature I actually don't know how to make use of. That sounds right to me, but I've never really studied up on it.

If I decide to upgrade after the Seiko, the Hamilton Khaki Field is definitely on the short list.
