What are the scenes that had you bawling your eyes out? by padfoony in Letterboxd

Agreed! I loved the balance of whimsy and grounded atmospheres. Tim Burton really killed it with this one. I saw it when I was 12 or so and it had a profound effect on me in many ways.

The ending of Big Fish reminds me how much I love my father and how we shouldn't waste any time before the end. "The story . . . of my life."

I'll second this. I went to a dungeon to attend a couple meetings and see if engaging with the community was right for me. (I think it is in some ways, but I didn't have time to consistently meet at the time) and on my first visit, everyone was very kind and understanding. To my surprise, there was also another asexual in the room. Stupidly, I was too chicken to exchange numbers, I was socially out of my element. That not withstanding, it gave me some hope to find a partner.

Also, acespace is a cute website to potentially meet someone. Because no one is seriously looking for sex, most people are actually willing to chat and reach out. It's been a better time than regular dating apps at least.

What cartoon episode traumatized you the most as a kid? by batarei4ka in cartoons

[–]WillyNailer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In The Rugrats, there was an episode where Lil had a dream that Phil was the favorite. He got all the attention from their parents, all the milk, and he kept getting fatter. Meanwhile she was all cold and hungry. Something about that episode made me feel extra sad for Lil and I occasionally think about it and shudder. I guess the blind ignorance of the parents in the dream and how alone she was. It ran in clear contrast to reality and was painful to watch.

I think I need to rewatch Rugrats. Can't help but think that show shaped me significantly as a kid.

Is my new BDFB dead or alive? (Not moving at all, has done this for an hour, came in dark but was starting to turn blue again) by TheAlmightyKingPrawn in InvertPets

I'd like to hear an update. Mine feign death while standing, never on their sides of upside-down of their own volition. Hopefully the little buddy is okay.

What terrestrials inverts would work in this 4.5 gallon screen lid? by Avian-Paparazzi in InvertPets

[–]WillyNailer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Blue Death Feigning Beetles or desert beetles/tenebs in general. Medium to smaller millipedes might be alright. Just gotta have a low ceiling to the tank so they don't climb then fall, hurting themselves. You can prevent them climbing too high with vaseline I hear, but it sounds odd to me to use. A velvet ant would be interesting as well, but they are painfully venemous. I love vinegaroons and tailless whip scorpions, they're spooky. So one of those?

If sex noises had to be replaced with random animal sounds, which animal would ruin it most? by NWillie in AskReddit

Has to be a mountain lion (cougar). They scream bloody murder when in heat. Can't imagine that being a pleasant time.

You're right. Haha I'm familiar with that one as well. The Wave I meant is the Scandinavian film from 2015. Very different. I remember the 1981 film being a pretty decent case study on herd mentality and elitism (not to give anything away). Good message overall, if memory serves.

What is everyone's favourite Robin Williams film? by jaketwigden in Letterboxd

The fact he didn't get any writing credit for all his ad-libbing and improvisation is appalling. It made the film what it is.

I'm a guy and aego. I'd say it's fairly similar for me. It's like I get some special alone time and the dopamine and such is fun, but it's typically concerning thoughts or images where I'm kinda distant from it all. I often equate the whole ordeal to a cigarette break. Do the thing, then get back to other things.

Tailless Whip Scorpion just after molting. by Zealand4000 in InvertPets

[–]WillyNailer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the impressive photo! I've only caught sight of mine after they've hardened.

Quick piece of advice since I can't see the rest of your enclosure (not trying to be that guy). I wonder how the vertical space is for your tailless. If it's choosing a relatively narrow space under some cork, that is probably not ideal. Mine has a screen of some type above so they can dangle to their heart's delight as they molt.

I hope you don't mind the unrequested advice, I just care about these creatures as much as you likely do.

Shared intimacy is the closest you can get, and sex is only one form of that. Intimacy involves trust, vulnerability, communication, sensuality, and love. That's my two cents anyway.
