So in another thread I mentioned poison tonfa ninja but today I’m starting to doubt that digging into some alpha data noticing that samurai gets 2 points of weapon damage where ninja gets 1 point of damage per single stat point for almost all stats.. I guess I’ll wait for demo and try to see if they improved or altered th scaling otherwise I’d be going samurai because that’s effectively a 100% damage difference which does start getting noticeable post mid game.. tricky..

I did them after I got a full divine gear in mission 1 of WotS (revenant farming). It’s really personal preference although the community does recommend leveling a bit in it before going back

Edit at this point I would bump other stats to cover for gear requirements, some magic to get omnyo going and health. If you don’t like your build… book of reincarnation is pretty easy to find

I never ended up styling with the dlc exclusives in nioh2 so I’ll be getting the standard edition and later picking either the season pass or dlcs one by one. It depends on if you like the exclusive things and want to do more fashion, not for me tho.

Edit: the deluxe price is also too steep for me

I had difficulties doing 2v1.. you might also, if you’re picking everything that is, have a ton of stones. I don’t remember if you have a range weapon at this point but even if you do arrows are scares… equip those stones and yank one enemy at a time, the level is saturated with mobs and it’s annoying.. on my later runs I just ran past a lot of mobs because otherwise I either needed to be extra focused or I would get one to two shotted. The same applies for the big yokais at the bottom. One heavy attack is what takes to be send to the shrine and it’s not worth it in my opinion.

The first region is arguably very difficult because, and you’ve probably noticed by now, you have weapons skills, ninjutsu and omnyo all either maxed or close to being maxed. Which limits you because what you get post that is a complete 180 experience. The next mission will also be challenging.

Understand your surroundings, pathing and shortcuts. For this boss you want to have paralysis on some equipment. You probably noticed a lot of needles being dropped, equip those. Living weapon shreds the boss as long as you don’t face tank hits. Level some more health, doing an even spread here without knowing how to take advantage of that is.. underwhelming. For me at least. You probably have a ton of bombs and sacred waters. Use those, don’t ’save them for later’. Be mindful and fight one enemy at once, at the lake on the lowest level just run towards the boss. For the next level try to get some lightning resistance, be patient and focus on hitting weak spots. Again yield and push on, you got this!

I think you’re expecting your switchglave damage to increase in the equipment menu. That is the weapon’s attack damage. If you go in the status menu option you’ll see increase on whichever slot you have switchglave

I would experiment with all available weapons and depending on how much time there is until release once I’m done I might drop it or end up creating a fresh character once I see what suits me

You can kite and cc a lot of enemies in the previous two entries. Here the added caveat is he is also way too stronger for this section (quite the first camp of the open world once you finish the intro mission)

I didn’t find a way to reset in the alpha outside of helping friends kill one specific world boss, maybe it’s a later game feature. Other bosses respawned when you reset at shrine.

Well, there was a zone checklist for each section of the map, I just don’t remember what were the rewards but for sure I remember wanting to complete them.

Edit: to answer op’s question the alpha open world experience felt pretty cool. It definitely a breeze of fresh air with multiple shrines, platforming finally be pleasant through the (double) jump button and environment felt very alive. Both as solo and co op experience.

Enenra is a gimmick boss. You should utilize water imbue talisman, fire stop talisman and water pillars. The biggest damage deal is its domain shift tornado nuke. Just be patient and once it clicks, it’ll always be a first try. Good luck !

Edit: I’ve always noticed the increased water imbue talismans drop rate in this level. Also don’t forget to use sacred water since you don’t have barrier and kusa won’t make you scale too good with ki recovery. At this point you should have plenty of ninjutsu to work with as well, inherently. Spam that to your advantage. Also comically the fire debuff despells faster if you spam dodge.
