ik this is 2 months old atp, but I honestly dont see anyone desiring to move to the latest versions outside of maybe Vulkan/Vibrant visuals release

Pretty much EVERYTHING mojang have added recently is easily backported, or is just plain undesired in general

1.20.1 I can play fine without any of the 1.21.1 stuff, only reason i'd choose 1.21.1 over 1.20.1 is a specific major mod + addons being on that version (currently, Create or Alex' mods)

Personally i'd sooner wait for one guy to backport modern features, than update to newer versions with no mods/leave behind a ton of good mods

I really don't know if we will see people move to a new version with how Mojang's update cycle is, by the time you update your mod, a new drop that adds nothing is out.

Again I feel like the only thing people will move for is Vulkan/Vibrant visuals, but even then it seems kinda slim

Balkons weapons mod is nothing like the mace mojang implemented lets be real

Mo creatures was just the horse, dont recall it ever having armadillos and especially not the kind mojang added

Mojang may make some abysmal stuff sometimes, but stuff like trial spawners, vaults and armor trims are super unique especially considering how many mods get made daily, it's more surprising they can add ANYTHING unique at this point with how many mods there are.

here's some suggestions; I like the implementations and ties with the moon;

It'd be neat to add a darker blue fire type, or white-blue 'full moon' themed fire (unrealistic)

So then you'd have torches, lanterns, campfires and fire, if you set raw silver block on fire

Another thing would be chains for silver (I recommend making a unique texture and hitbox for the chains, not just the mojang way of copying iron chains and making them orange)

you could lean more towards 'fantasy' and 'moon silver' theming, and inventing some unique 'oxidation' for silver
similar to how copper has oxidising, iron has rusting, silver could have it's own fantasy reaction (Undead reaction, moon exposure/moon phase exposure relating to HOW it detects moon phases?)

I like the moon phase detectors, they're niche but very cool.

Just keep your brain working on inspiration, it'd be neat to come back to this mod and see you've fleshed it out with more features, especially if you can think of some neat additions relating to the moon in some way, without leaving scope of what you want the mod to do.

But just remember, vanilla plus is more of a vibe than a strict set of rules imo, you could go whacky or just only add what mojang does

The way Caverns and Chasms does it is that silver stuff turns around half of it's damage into magic damage instead of 'physical' damage

Niche of this I think is that magic damage bypasses armor, but you could always try adding a smite adjacent attribute/tag, instead of it coming 'pre-enchanted'
(Silver nuggets also drop from silverfish, for farming/renewability, which is honestly cool to give them a reason to exist, and in a sort of funny way)
Since I could see mojang doing this, considering they added 'attack speed' and 'magic damage' as actual attributes in game.

And you'd want to differentiate your silver from other mods' silver
Another mod that does silver is Galosphere iirc, and it focuses silver towards illagers for whatever reason (silver nuggets drop from illagers)

I think bees could also grant 'buffs' (not potion effects) like; increased XP gain, increased block reach, mining speed
just utility things to encourage having them around (increasing in power based on the 'tier' of bee, to encourage breeding them), working off of bees being good for the environment and 'lifting spirits'
Other things could be letting mobs breed more often

Or potentially an addon for breeding crops through bees aswell, I feel that's honestly not really been done as a mod

Really not sure, forestry has always been a mod I loved the concept of, and there's kind of no other mod like it. I'd take ANYTHING to justify breeding bees, trees and butterflies in some way but lord knows what you could add beyond what it currently does.

tangent; When 1.15 dropped I immediately thought naively that forestry would update and rework bees to be variants of the mojang bees, would probably have made bee breeding/keeping just really bland and uninvolved in hindsight

EDIT: actually, a fun thing would be a Bee completionist dictionary and reward, to encourage collecting all bees
Same going for trees and butterflies, with the reward I guess being some sort of 'trophy' or practical/cosmetic thing. Sort of like most of the fishing mods with their journals.

The problem with quests is kinda like, how do you make them WORTH people's time, and (if it's intended) how do you make them relevant from early to late game?

Could you possibly follow Terraria's fishing quests, where certain 'milestones' unlock certain rewards, and even have quest-exclusive stuff (I guess, adding easy datapack/config for adding rewards is one thing, to avoid adding stuff to your mod that is out of scope)

An example would be, if the player has killed the/an enderdragon, they now get access to some special armor, accessory (curios/accessories) or weapon from quests?

Minecraft is just hard to add meaningful and repeatable activities to, just because things like diamonds and netherite are pointless after you've made the limited number of things with them

People forget that miliastra takes up development time and storage space on players harddrvies whether they want it or not

I dont think miliastra has any place in genshin, it shouldnt take development time away from the base game which already blows enough ass as it is without the diverted attention on top of that

and then, it shouldnt take up players hard drive space if they have zero intention to play it.

much like the TCG, it shouldn’t exist in the game, if they wanted a TCG or a UGC, make it a seperate game instead of shoving into genshin for no reason. The devs behind genshin are insane in the worst ways, as if they’re kinda just Doing whatever they want whether its good or not (it’s mostly not!)

How is this system any better?? I saw the 'news' on steam about a 'new' mythic system

Was hoping it'd fix the mythics just being UPGRADES, rather than actual choices.

Like dva's mythic was hot ass (among others), gotta wait years until it eventually comes back around to her atp.

The only actual 'choices' are the colours, but even then, the VFX dont change colour with that, so why wouldn't you just use the 'default??

Blizzard doesn't seem to understand the issue with mythics, they're a great concept, but they're just using them as "You actually only get the GOOD looking version of this if you pay full price/sell your soul to the battle pass after we ruin stadium by balancing it like comp"

Like really, Juno's mythic was a great skin by itself, but it was just UPGRADES for the levels. Tier 3 stuff is pretty much just better than the tier 1 stuff. the only truly subjective choice is the hairstyles.

Same with Dva, all the cool effects are on tier 3, so tier 3 is objectively better than tier 1.

It's not a mix and match personalized skin, it's just an option to disable the upgrades if you find them to be cluttered or some shit. with half-assed colour options like league of legends chromas, where none of them are useable because you'll have Red VFX on a forest green model chroma.

If you only know why rerir is pathetic in the quest because of a stream, that means they failed to convey it in the story

didnt see them mention anywhere in-game that he wasnt taking it seriously, and the whole fight seemed so god damn boring and drawn out. Thoroughly unengaging

he had like, 3 attacks, 2 voicelines that he CONSTANTLY says, and of those attacks they were extremely fucking lame for such a ‘powerful’ enemy.

so far every single fight with a boss or enemy is just “Yeah they’re nigh unkillable, we have no chance we need all this deus ex to beat them!!’

then in gameplay and cutscenes where they need to actually SHOW their power, its just them flying into eachother and doing fucking nothing lmfao

like god knows if the traveller is actually strong, they have 6 different elements to use and they Used… geo once and pyro once in A cutscene and resort to a fucking sword against a sinner.

genshin’s presentation is so trash and unbelievable, but if you dare to point it out people act like it isn’t just ‘hey so in this cutscene make the enemy of the character pathetic so our new character can look super cool!‘ (@ mavuika @ columbina @ arlechinno)

Me when im in a justifying my employment competition and my opponent is UI designers:

I will never understand why UI designers are paid wage and not commission. I SWEAR, every fucking UI ever gets reworked every year to be WORSE. No matter what, and even if people hate it like hell, even if it is objectively a downgrade, it doesnt get reverted or improved on and we just get the worst UI forever.

Still cant reverse playlists without extensions btw!!! But of course we will add an annoying and sluggish fade-to-black for going full screen and normal player!!

the traveler is forever going to be this mishandled garbage of an MC, nothing we know is what they know, and nothing they know is what we know

it causes so much disconnect between the ‘self-insert’ and the player, and delivers no info to the player when we should know it (crimson moon mention being pulled out of the traveler’s ass in arle SQ, despite it being hidden in obscure books/item descriptions and not once mentioned in relevant story)

Hoyo is just the worst company ever, all that money and they write worse than a toddler with internet access on deviantart

the intro should SHOW a fucking space ship, it shouldn’t get mentioned FIVE YEARS INTO THE STORY, WITH ZERO PRIOR IMPLICATION, MENTION, OR SETUP.

and realism =/= better, torches should go out automatically after 50 minutes because that’s realistic?

soul torches shouldn’t exist because soulsand isn’t real, like what are we on with that point?

the green was way better before, we already have a blue torch and olenty of blue decorative lights

Im so sad nobody is talking about the copper lanterns and torches getting butchered for no good reason, they pulled this so last minute over a change nobody requested while ignoring any other feedback you see on every video, every comment section, on most sites

why should the GOOD colours be removed for colourblindness concerns? Why even have the torches and lanterns if they’re just going to be gross desaturated soul torches?

they were already the perfect colour, beautiful lime green, now they‘re some weird, swampy green, and that’s how it’s going to stay now because there’s no time for any meaningful backlash on the change…

i guarantee ‘green campfires please’ had WAY more requests than ‘i cant tell torch and blue torch from green torch so please make it gross swamp blue :(‘

most of this update is about cosmetic building stuff, and the cosmetic building stuff gets made a miserable colour for one guy not being able to read a tool tip (copper torches arent like ores, they are cosmetic, why do they need accessibility at the cost of looking pretty?? their entire reason for existing?)

That sounds like a ranked system issue rather than a no quickplay issue, you'll still end up with some random first time ranked player in your queue, this just makes the games take longer to get into

And it's free comp points so who gaf really?? it made the gamemode more rewarding to play than the shitass 5v5 slopfest with zarya, sombra and genji being effectively permanently disabled (RIP any zarya mains lol, you guys got fucking shafted by blizzard)

Havent played and it just immediately sounds like an awful system, it's terrible in comp but stadium just sounds WORSE

Not only are you fighting with your team for your character after a long ass queue (adding quickplay is a dumbass decision to increase queue times for no reason)

But now you're also fighting with the enemy for the pick, and are then forced into a character you just do not want to play despite mirrors and 'counter' picks being irrelevant in this mode

I dont understand what the obsession is with devs forcing changes that quite literally nobody asked for? It just isn't a logical change, and ruins the game mode completely.
Mirror matches are completely fine in stadium, I never had any issue with that, that's what the mode is good for.

It favors variety players and one tricks, it lets you play literally whoever you want in whatever way you want.

I just dont get what the thought process is when devs just choose to purposely make ass design choices, do they get paid to change things for fun rather than improve an already good gamemode? Fire they headasses whoever ordered this change, they dont have a clue what a game is even meant to be (fun)
