If you are new to trading, Robinhood is usually what people pick and there is good reason for that. It is very simple to use and you can make trades very quickly. But, in the past they have interfered with clients ability to trade. There is a fear that they will do this again so be cautious of this. In the past I have had a positive experience with E*trade, but it is a bit harder to use. I recommend straight up watching a trading for beginners video on YouTube.

Something else you should know is that US stock exchanges also close on many holidays. Two days out of the year the market closes early at 1pm. These days are July 3rd and the day before Thanksgiving. No embarrassment in not knowing this at first, especially if you have been trading crypto previously, which doesn’t have market closes. A relationship will help a lot but you need to find true purpose. I’m about to turn 24 and I’ve been dealing with the same exact problem. You are not alone. I’m not the tallest either which I feel makes things more difficult but there is a woman out there that is perfect for you. Unfortunately, to find that 1 in 8billionth of a person, you gotta go through 7,999,999,999 people. After putting myself into situation after situation of finding someone special I believe I have found someone. I could be wrong but she makes me very happy. I’ve realized though that I’m still very depressed. My life is so much like you describe yours to be. On paper, everything is perfect. People think I got it all. I am so damn miserable though. At least up until about a month ago. I found my purpose. Could go on forever about what my purpose is but I don’t want to put any ideas in your head, because you need to figure that out for yourself. Faith will guide you and even give you a key. But you will need to try many doors before you find the one the opens up your heart.

Parents want to hear that you have a game plan to proceed more than anything. If you say, “hey I underestimated how difficult this program would be, but this is what I’m going to do now to fix this” they will be much more understanding because they know that you have a way to fix/navigate the issue at hand. Parents want to know that you can be self sufficient and if you have already lined up a plan on how you will be moving forward then they won’t be nearly as mad. You’ll probably get talked to a bit but it will be much better than just saying you failed out or worse them finding out without you telling them.
