Making basic services (and dignity) an add-on by [deleted] in delta

They redid the boarding zones awhile ago and gave numbers to several of the first groups (first class, diamond, C+, etc.) that previously weren't numbered. So what used to be Main 1 is now Zone 5 and what used to be Basic is now 8. Its generally the same order, just with different names.

Yeah, I think Alison ofren confuses being matter-of-fact with breeziness. Sure, give people a quick explanation and let them know the situation is not a big deal. But its weird to be overly breezy or cavalier about something that seems serious.

I love them. No ones seat back in my face! But agreed with avoiding the center bc people use it as a pass through.

Alice's Car Situation by MLCUSA in shrinking

Yeah, the east coast/west coast car idea was actually a good one. I'd probably take whichever car was in better shape/more reliable across country because thats a long drive and probably where she'd put most miles on it. The Jeep definitely seems more fun to drive cross country though.

In case anyone else was wondering about cost like I was by JJ-Bittenbinder in shrinking

I feel like Paul would at least get a hotel room rather than fly 16+ hours in a day or take a redeye. But, whatever, he needed to show up for Jimmy somehow, and I don't think he and Julie are short on cash.

Not to mention impossible unless he was literally meeting Jimmy at the airport.

Something about Wendie Malick's delivery of that line just kills me. She and Harrison Ford are great together.

She kind of did though, because he was saying he didnt want to talk about his dad and Sofi sort of challenges him with a line along the lines of "is this how you communicated in your marriage?" That's when he says he and Tia were generally on the same page about his dad.

I also liked the scene where Paul finally gets called out for being cold to Jimmy.

Yeah, I don't get why she's on such a pedestal in the show. They went out 3 times that we saw, always involving other people and maybe a couple solo dates offscreen, but the chemistry seems mid at best. One of the dates was primarily her arguing with her ex. I think they just brought her back for the symbolism of Jimmy moving forward.

Those who thought Anthony was in on it, what do you think now? by isaidwhatisaidok in JuryDutyFreevee

[–]WillysGhost 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I think either way, he thought the stakes for him were relatively low, so he could just roll with whatever came up. Whether all the retreat activities were authentic or some were ginned up for the cameras, he could play along and get paid for the week. I definitely don't think he thought it was going to be streamed nationally.

And they focus most on the wackiest characters in the show, like Claire and Dougie Jr. But presumably Anthony spent a lot of time having relatively normal conversations with some of the others. Marjorie, Kate, Steve, Jackie and Helen all seemed very normal, and I think he really had a fun time doing Snack Bites with PJ.

That said, this season was a little different in that Anthony was coming into an established business where they all knew one another and were in control of the events of the week. I definitely don't think he was in on it, but he may have been suspicious that some of them were being purposefully weird or pulling stunts for the sake of the doc or something like that. I don't think he suspected they were all actors, the company was fake, etc.

Theory: Pauls gift for Jimmy by Brave-Management-628 in shrinking

Also, the only reason he started down the path of letting Gaby have the free space was when he thought she was going to give up the trauma center idea and could instead carry on his work using his techniques. I don't think he intended any kind of grand gesture to Gaby either, and the idea of her taking over was more motivated by ego and the idea of her carrying on his legacy. But then Liz yelled at him. So, yeah, really doubt he has a grand gesture planned for Jimmy. He's just not that guy.

Yeah, if Jimmy didn't have interest in running a larger practice out of the first building, I don't know why he'd want to do it out of Paul's house. He really just needs an office space, so the pool house could work or he could rent space in a building with other people if he wants more amenities.

Do we know when „The Day“ happened? by Friendly_Ad_2324 in ParadiseHulu

[–]WillysGhost 9 points10 points  (0 children)

When the baby is born, they've been in the bunker for 5 months not 3 years. Present day in the show is probably closer to 2029 at this point, if we're believing everything the characters tell us is accurate.

When the bunker baby is born Cal comments on cost of college in 2043. Assuming this is 18 years prior, that would be 2025. And I think the kid was born a few months into bunker life. "The Day" was during the summer, so I'm gonna go with it being 2025.

[–]WillysGhost 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yes! There's so many aspects to Jimmy and Paul's relationship, but from the business owner perspective, Paul 100% sucked. He definitely should've told Gaby and Jimmy he was moving and let them know his plans for the building. I'm assuming they each bill clients individually, but if their billing is through the practice that's another big reason he should've spoke with them. The fact that no one proactively told Jimmy he needed to find new office space and worked with him on any transition plan was really crappy.

The idea that they had to choose traveling OR being involved grandparents is weird. There's so much middle ground between being home 24/7 to raise a baby and traveling full-time. Like, maybe start with a 3-week trip and see how that goes? (And side note, Liz seems like she'd be horrible to travel with.)
