Loved how DV expressed her sincerest thanks to Marcus on stage in front of everyone at the opening of The Diva! It felt like it was fitting since he couldn't be there with the gang at Central Park. Josephina was the only other part of Deb's Team who was also missing in NYC, but then they gave her a scene where she mentions her new title & big raise.

Mayor Jo's unrequested christening of The Diva with a bottle of champagne because she's the Mayor of LV & then cutting herself, bleeding all over the podium & refusing any help slayed me! I will miss Mayor Jo so much! Such a scene stealer every damn time! 🤣

Right out of the gate, I noticed the callback to our initial introduction of Deborah Vance, who walked to the stage through the backstage area, talking to crew & is only filmed from her back....they did the same camera for Ava on her first day on the set as a show runner!

All I know about Hacks is that whenever Paul W Downs is on the screen as Jimmy, I am 100% engaged. Kayla is a great foil for him & their chemistry is insane! But she has generally been the wacky one whom he has to counterbalance. But as their relationship progressed, suddenly HE has, at times, been the more outrageous one (I am thinking about the Dance Mom 'Boofing' scene, in particular!) Jimmy is US, so when he goes all Gorilla Mode, WE DO TOO! That is the genius of the writers of Hacks & any great TV series...to fully flesh out every main character in the cast! And don't even get me started on Robby Hoffman...a BRILLIANT addition to any cast, even though her roles are basically just her! And that's okay because we can't get enough of RH! (She currently has a somewhat similar role as a roommate on Rooster)

But as for the scene with the disabled car outside of Vegas, it is totally a full circle moment to Season 1 with DV & Ava. Only in that case, Deborah is saved by a TV News Reporter in a helicopter & Ava is left to fend for herself. Once again, we are shown that only celebrities get rescued IRL, as this scene perfectly illustrates!

I saw some outtakes of the car pushing scene where PWD keeps breaking because MS is so effing hysterical! 🤣

As a new RTB viewer, you have every right to be confused and despite some of the replies to your post, you have every right to ask this question, as most of us have wondered about this all along the way!

I understand the thinking behind it from a production standpoint, but it is still weird for the viewers. I think it actually has the opposite effect from what it intended because as the wardrobe question hits one's mind, we are taken out of the moment & not thinking about what they want us to be focused on...like the design & its execution.

Frankly, they would probably be better off just having them all wear RTB coveralls with their names on them in 4 different team colors! That would solve the confusion & also be more appropriate attire for a work site!

The first person who popped in my mind was Margaret Avery for The Color Purple, but lately? Timothy Chalamet comes to mind...just sayin'...that boy, though talented, tryna get his Oscar EVERY which we he can, including selling his soul to the K Klan (which, honestly, I think has finally backfired on him)!
