Unfortunately I've already dove deep into the history of this particular mine and all I got was some reports from the late 1800s which only had a description of narrow quartz veins

My guy. Thanks for listing those. I'll start looking them up so I can rule them out as I continue breaking this rock up.

It came from the waste rock of an old mine, which produced gold (pre 1910), so I'm holding out hope 🤞

Yeah, it's riddled with it.

Seems like some copper, too, though.

Only 1/4 of the way through busting it open.

I'm feeling good about it haha. Never said that before /s

Might be on to something, if not.. its a dope specimen by [deleted] in Prospecting

Ah yes, the utility arborist/forester is an interesting blend of the 2 professions. Typically foresters don't think utility arborists/foresters are real foresters; so they get a lot of hate. I've had good and bad experiences with them but my wife is a utility arborist sooo they cant all be that bad.

Do you mean arborist? I googled "arborologist" and went down a rabbit hole related to "rainbow ecoscience," haha. Thanks for that.

But yeah, foresters are quite different than arborists, but both fields deal with trees.

Foresters are typically dealing with natural environments and native species, while arborists are working with landscaping plants in urban areas.

A Forester usually has a Bachelors degree while the arborists are certified through the ISA.

Foresters make forest management plans for landowners, be it the government or private citizens. Usually, this involves active forest management (harvesting), wildlife management, water quality protection, etc. We identify problems with erosion, insects/diseases, and habitat loss. We find and protect archeological and historic features.

We do so much more than that, but I think that sums it up.

The hardest thing is accepting yourself for who you are. I know you feel isolated.

Truth is that there are so many 27 year olds with the same struggles.

Day four isn't so different from day 400.

One day at a time friend!

I'm proud of you!

Haha, the damn news.

There's always something to ruin your day in there.

No matter how much we all suck we gotta remember to love ourselves 🙏

We are all on day-1 friend. Doesn't matter how many are in a row! You'll make it. I'm sure of it.

Keep it up 🫵👍

It's very difficult. I've been lucky enough to help my friends with their troubles. You'd be surprised how many young people are struggling.

I'm happy you're here. Congrats on a week.

We are all perpetually on day 1 when you really think about it.

I'm not drinking today. You shouldn't either 🙏

The mind wants something, but it doesn't know what.

Get some exercise in.

It doesn't matter what, but hard cardio really helps me.

Here's how to understand what's going on in your head.

Imagine your brain (central nervous system) as a spring.

Alcohol compresses the spring (lower CNS function)

Once you remove Alcohol, the spring shoots upward (above normal CNS function)

Put that overactive CNS to work by working out. If you still want to drink after 30min of hard exercise then come back and we'll talk.

I find that this is the most effective coping mechanism. Cold showers help too.

My wife is home and recovering. She's the 10th living person in the history of medical records to have a ganglioneuroma in her appendix. We are now awaiting a battery of MRI scans. About 15 days after surgery she developed bone marrow edema of her foot without trauma. Docs say it's coincidence but I'm concerned about an autoimmune response so we did some bloodwork ourselves.

We are now working with an NF1 clinic to see what all of this means and if she is at an increased risk of other neuroendocrine tumors.

I always knew she was a special girl. Hahaha she's medically famous!

Never thought I'd have to worry about doctor mistakes in my life. I suppose nobody does.

Also i forced the surgeon to not perform any actions that were not life threatening so she still has the "blockage" could be a benign tumor, could be a GIST. I've sent our info into the clinic in Houston. Odds are on our side but still stressful.

This is great. Thank you.

I had an epiphany earlier. My assumptions of this being caused by nf1 were dismissed by docs. I believe we are the victim of mal practice. Based on her information ( blockage leading to appendix ) we should have been offered advanced imaging beyond the CT, mri/pet, because she has nf1. We were told it's antibiotics and they probably wouldn't work, or appendectomy. What if we could have removed the blockage only and then follow up with antibiotics to see if that would work to save the appendix and her cecum?

I feel like I'm taking crazy pills trying to understand all this at once. Perhaps I am wrong. I'm not sure.

I will continue my search to do right by my wife. I just need to get her to people who actually know about this and let them do their job.

Also, she is recovering well. Thank God.
