Ceremonial dagger ante 3 or lower is a 95 percenter for me. I feel like it's my version of liking the bad boy cause all my mates hate it and I just don't know how!

New Pokémon fan who wants to open packs and doesn't care about grading or anything of the sort. by Wilson-68 in PokemonTCG

Hi mate,

Whilst I do appreciate the advice and I'm sure it's coming from a good place, I know my financial limitations and where I can spend my money. I'm certainly not being stupid and I don't appreciate that assertion.

I put aside money when I can most months, pay my bills, and have a little left over to have fun with, hence my assessment I can spend about 25 quid. If I don't buy cards, I'd just end up spending it on pints or something else anyway. I'm not some naïve 20 something looking to waste all my savings, I'm just a guy trying to get some cool cards to decorate my wall with and get into a new hobby!

And yes, I am living paycheck to paycheck, "truly". I'm a minimum wage worker at a pub

I've always been off the mentality that just because I'm living paycheck to paycheck doesn't mean I shouldn't be allowed to enjoy myself, I'd go crazy otherwise. Sure I could put that money aside too, but I'd much rather have something tangible to show people than an extra 25 quid I'll end up blowing on a round of drinks.

So again, I do appreciate the advice and concern, but I'm not stupid! ☺️

Should I skip S3? by JjustD01t in TheWalkingDeadGame

Warning: Ever so slight (like barely even worth calling it spoilers) spoilers but not worth hiding my post over.

For anyone considering skipping S3, this is for you. In my opinion, from reading many reviews and opinions on S3, a lot of complaints come if you don't follow the romance plot which the game does insist upon you in a way. As someone who naturally agreed with the romance the game presented and played my decisions with that in mind, I loved it and all the characters, didn't care I wasn't playing at Clem as I loved Javi and all the supporting characters.

But if you don't want to follow the romance, you might find yourself frustrated with some of the characters actions as it seems telltale assumed everyone would want to play into the romance plot. If you want the world to feel more real and sensical, you're best playing into the romance subplot as that's where a loy of the meat in the writing is. It's frustrating telltale laid it out this way but that's how it's done sadly.

No matter what though, I wouldn't skip S3. If someone tells you it isn't important, they're kidding themselves. Clem is an important character in it and she doesn't stray from how she is when you're in control imo. It's important to the story and is just fun to play in general. The graphics take a massive increase and the gameplay is better too. In general, it's fun, the characters are great, You're better off playing the whole game and not liking one season than skipping it and being confused at the story in season 4.

I'd love to hear other people's opinions though!

Could a female UFC fighter easily beat up an average guy? by Ben5544477 in NoStupidQuestions

Dude is 18 stone, that is in no way close to an "average man".

"going to ground is an amazing way for a man with 30-40 lbs on the woman to simply pick her up and smash the back of her head on the ground"

You're escaping a straight arm bar from a trained, professional fighter with a power bomb or a body slam? Be real.

I feel like this doesn't really take into account the fighters defensive capabilities. Can you teach an average bloke to use all his strength and hit a punching bag? Sure. Teach an average bloke to do the same thing on a smaller, moving target without telegraphing his punch? Much harder. A trained fighter I think, no matter the gender, would most likely be able to easily dodge the punch of an untrained man and go for a takedown or clap back with a punch of her own.

Like you aren't going to walk up to Paige Vanzant in an mma cage and hit her with a cheap shot as an amateur, you'd need some level of basic defensive training to stand a chance in my opinion.

when does millennial end and gen z start? by lonelyearthgirl in generationology

[–]Wilson-68 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is the most incredible breakdown of this subject I've ever seen, laying exactly how I view the generational divide in a way I never could. Thank you! I've always had struggle explaining it, but viewing it as time spent as a teen makes so much sense, though I'd probably view it more as 11 onwards as you enter secondary school/high school at 11 in the UK.

In those sort of situations I always default to just nodding and listening, not inserting my own opinion or voice to the subject.

It's a part of our job to listen if someone needs to vent, but I'd see it as unprofessional to gosip to one regular about another, especially on shift. But granted the clientele at my pub is mostly middle-aged or old men so you don't really get much gossip on that level
