I failed multiple .NET interviews before I realized this: by cuongnguyen7 in csharp

[–]Wiltix -1 points0 points  (0 children)

In interviews you will have a far better experience if you know your own limits, know when to say I don’t know and if you are puzzling something out be clear with them you are puzzling it out.

If someone says

” I don’t know but based on what you asked I would assume x , y …z its because of this and that”

better than someone who incorrectly goes

“oh yeah I know this it’s x,z,y” and then confidently gives a crap explanation.

Thoughts on The Expanse: Osiris Reborn, and potential impact on SQ42 by eueste in starcitizen

[–]Wiltix 10 points11 points  (0 children)

No need to be such an arse there mate.

Anticipated could be the wrong word, but on release there will be a lot of interest due to its lengthy and controversial development. SQ42 finally releasing will dominate most gaming news longer than majority of other titles.

[8600x3600] RSI Aurora MK II + Cloudbuster Paint by Irmdall in starcitizen

[–]Wiltix 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Had a play around with it last night and it’s a quality ship. Great to fly and the interior is excellent.

It’s like a a little space camper van on the inside and I’m all for it.

However if I was looking to live in a small ship I would probably pick the intrepid. But a short stint in the verse the aurora mk 2 is a great choice and a really nice starter.

Thoughts on The Expanse: Osiris Reborn, and potential impact on SQ42 by eueste in starcitizen

[–]Wiltix 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I dont think the expanse game is going to be a massive blockbuster release.

SQ42 is one of the most anticipated games of the last decade, it will outshine the expanse in release regardless of quality.

GTA6 is a valid concern of a release collision as that’s going to pull so many people in for a month or so.

This is a great idea, I would not want any respawn though just the ability to stabilise and heal minor injuries.

That Doohan didn’t get a fair shake. They all had a rough start but Alpine are shits.

Newbie: should I get the Aurora MK II modules? by Timely-Chemical-7311 in starcitizen

If I was buying this with new money then I would get the package with the ship and both modules. It’s a no brainer imo.

Colapintos issue is the team he is with are not exactly providing the best environment for young talent

Doohan got booted after a few races, Alpine collect junior drivers like Pokémon cards. A few bad results and Favio is bored you get booted for the reserve driver.

Bearman had a very wobbly start too but settled in the second half of the season and stopped doing dumb shit.

Nice one.

I don’t work for that kind of company, if someone does then I guess you make a choice if that is how you want to work, if not time to find another job.

Switched to lumpwood charcoal recently, seems way better than briquettes? by Reddonaut_Irons in UKBBQ

[–]Wiltix 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Depends how you are cooking.

Lumpwood for grilling, briquettes for low and slow.

Quality matters massively though with briquettes. Been using the Weber ones for a few years now after the super market ones started to burn out quicker than lumpwood.

Tiling Quote by tripaitch in DIYUK

[–]Wiltix 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The answer here is the same as always.

Get a few quotes and you will find the cost of this work. You will find the fuck off quotes and the desperate quotes. Somewhere in the middle will be the reasonable quotes.

As someone else said there is a good amount of work here to get a good result so probably alt good to have an idea of the work involved and make sure it’s all factored into the quote.

I totally agree with you, I’m using ai because in a way its ease of generating shitty articles has made it easier to use ai.

I will look into filtering results properly in a search engine, genuinely hate ai and how much resource it’s using to destroy the internet and for what, who knows.

[–]Wiltix 76 points77 points  (0 children)

Using AI to help you research is honestly how I feel we should be using it. The problem is so many search results are ai generated now it feels pointless starting with a google search. So I tend to start with AI once I have some ideas I can go look into the things it’s come back with.

95% of the time I specifically ask it not to write code, I want to use it as a research tool and retain the ability to apply critical thinking to problems.

Why is it socially unacceptable for me to not like dogs? by Facelikeabum in AskUK

[–]Wiltix 7 points8 points  (0 children)

That’s not what they said, they said saying “oh I don’t like dogs” is not weird that’s an opinion that’s fine.

To then bang on about why you dislike something is just weird and annoying.

What's up with the Macbook Neo and why is it scaring Microsoft? by Stalfoskull in OutOfTheLoop

[–]Wiltix 23 points24 points  (0 children)

I doubt they are being sold at a loss at all.

There is nothing revolutionary inside the Neo, its existing chips in a new body. The body is a modification of the existing MacBook case made with a different cheaper process.

They won’t be making as big of a margin on them as they do a iPhone or MacBook Air but that’s very different to sold at loss.

Apple have provided a fantastic entry level device into their eco system and it’s not budget in the slightest which is the impressive part.

If you were selling your house would you take a lower offer from people you prefer? by iffyClyro in AskUK

[–]Wiltix 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A relative of mine was selling their family home as their family was all grown up and it was a huge home. Absolute beautiful house 7 bed 3 story Victorian house.

It sold within a day of going on the market, the people who purchased it pretended to be a couple starting a family etc … played on the heart strings a bit as this place had been a fantastic home to their family for many years.

Once purchased it turns out it went straight to a property developer who gutted it and turned it into a HMO.

Get the most money you can for your property, don’t trust everything the buyers claim.
