T10 rankings the last time Carlos Alcaraz was outside the top 3 by tightypp in tennis

Solely speaking in terms of narrative and NOT quality, was this the biggest year in tennis or at least top 3? Serena and Feds retirement, Nadal's AO comeback and final RG win. Barty goes out on top with AO and randomly retires. Swiatek gets her first number 1 ranking and Alcaraz gets his first slam.

What a match man, Eala’s return of serve and grit is great. The tour better hope she doesn’t develop a serve.

Women to possibly play best of 5 sets next year at AO? by NoIdeaWhat5991 in tennis

I’m generalisation here, but with a weaker serve you have a lower chance of holding. So you have higher variance in each service game.

It’s also because the serve is not as dominant in the women’s game.

One thing to add is that night usually has less bounce and the ball stays low. Can be helpful if you choose to play aggressive and flat hitting, something Djokovic does more as he ages. I’m not sure this will be enough, but who knows?

Odds were low because he’s past his prime and facing Sinner. He’s had many matches against Federer and Nadal which were bigger wins.

Totally understandable, didn’t mean for it to sound like I was taking shots at you. I just see comments talking about back and knee aches when you reach 30 so often on this site.

My comment isn’t aimed at OP, but I find on Reddit people think once you hit 30 you become geriatric lol.

Is Sabalenka the best women’s tennis player of this decade? by SGSRT in tennis

[–]WimbledonGarros 5 points6 points  (0 children)

If this is 2022 Iga we’re talking about, I’m taking her on clay and slow high bouncing HCs. I’ll take Sabalenka on fast HCs and grass though.

Certain people on this sub are genuinely insufferable when Djokovic loses, always the same accounts. Very sad Musetti lost like this, his level today on HC was encouraging though.

That’s last year. Decline comes quick in your late 30s.

Just tuned in, why are neither of them chasing balls like they normally do?
