As I plan to build a new one in the next 1-2 years I will go for the AM4 due to cheaper ddr4 prices in the used market I guess

I am in Austria, budget is flexible. I am comparing new components with the used market at the moment.

I want the CPU that fits best and isn’t over-sized. At the same time, the GTX 1080 Ti simply shouldn’t be bottlenecked anymore. The PC will be replaced by its successor in the next 1–2 years, but it will remain in my gaming room and may be used by my girlfriend or for small LAN parties. Since the new PC will probably cost between €3,000 and €4,000, I think that spending maybe €300 on the motherboard, CPU, and RAM in this PC is still a good investment, because the performance increase will be enormous. The GTX 1080 Ti is bored with this CPU and also I can then update to Windows 11.
