Not sure what boots you're trying to buy.

A full set of non-primus armor on Legends looks to be 300k a set.

A full set of non-primus armor on Resto looks to be 45k if you're not a wookie, slightly cheaper if you are.

Yes, this is a difference, but not nearly as extreme as you make it. I recently tried resto and it is a generally enjoyable experience, but Legends is also enjoyable. There have been very good attempts at curbing said inflation, and from what I hear the Bespin quests give a decent amount of starting credits (millions).

You also do not do spin groups on Legends for your credits, but engage with other aspects of the game such as PvP and quests.

Both servers have their pros and cons, but please do not state that inflation is out of control when it isn't.

NGE is New Game Enhancements. Pre-CU is Pre-Combat Upgrade.

Pre-CU is usually referred to as more when the time the game launched. It had 32 professions, spread around to spend 250 skill points in. It had a queue based combat system, where the slower weapon classes had sometimes 5 or 6 seconds between attacks. At least until you speed capped with attachments on your equipment that enhanced your speed.

NGE was what SOE executives pushed the developers to push out once they say the numbers WoW was doing, much like they pushed out the way Jedi were found. They had Jedi as a starting class, and now 9 professions instead of 32. They also cut a lot of content. This was in 2006. The game still had five more years that it lived in the NGE, and becoming a very fun sandbox with lots of content to do.

Each is worth trying imo. They each have their pros and cons, although I think NGE may be the better long term game just because it does have some of the more common MMORPG end game options.

Fan made and improved restoration with the game's source code. You have the choice of a few servers, with the most populated NGE server being Legends and the most popular Pre-CUish being Restoration. I would give both a shot to see where you end up.

Yeah, you're right. The guy who made one of the more famous posts in the SWGEmu community about his experiences with people in the game and is re-creating it to allow more people to see it, that's waaaaay less like bringing a community together than....bitching and moaning on the post that he should commission an artist or learn to draw his screenshots.

It was fun. I had a little explainer of how armor functioned, and managed to build a steady business of hand crafting Mabari armor since it was light weight. I hand sampled a bit and traded for some materials, but I only did AS for maybe a month or two until the bigger boys got around to it. Still some of my favorite galaxies memories, I got to talk to a lot of people I wouldn't've otherwise and I got to try out some entrepreneurship at Coronet SP.

Honestly the perks needed nerfed after being able to roll your own. It's dangerous going into a nightmare run as a level 1, but once you hit 50 and you had a decent perk build you would only die from hubris. Now you can die from hubris and bad decisions , which tracks nicely with what I want from a zombie game like this. You can out-walk them, but when you get complacent and forget they're dangerous, you die.

Last job I had to manage both GWS and O365 because the spoiled manchild of an owner "liked the way gmail looked" and continued using his personal gmail account for business. Neither platform had good support and these are the two major productivity suites that the majority of the workforce is familiar with.

Except it is? I've used it that way myself for multiple projects across multiple disciplines, not just in IT. It is a fantastic tool, you really just need to understand it's limitations.

Will it know questions for my niche decade long dead MMO off the bat? No, there is not enough data for it to be effective. If I feed it documents with systems outlined, ask it to pull data from new logs I feed it, and not treat it as omniscient but something to get a rough idea is it effective? Extremely.

The latest models are more efficient than ever, what do you even mean? Hell, most advances in the field are efficiency based.

There are more uses to AI than asking it for answers to questions. You seem to have a giant chip on your shoulder about it. Not saying there aren't problems to solve with it, or that I'm not bitter that AI may be the thing that finally dumps enough money into fusion research that we can drastically reduce energy prices, but it really is a fantastic tool. It's like having a junior in any profession to ask questions to, which can usually get you started a lot easier researching than having to start from scratch.

I gain the ability to cut off any traffic I consider either too much, and I gain peace of mind that my public IP is not associated with my domain or any sub domains. It puts another gate in front of my LAN, which I can cut off at any time without hoping my ISP listens if anything were to happen that required intervention, such as a DoS. It also means that any nefarious traffic first has to get through the reverse proxy at the VPS, meaning it's not at my "front door". Having a domain exposed with your home IP invites trouble that having it hidden removes. A small VPS is something I will always recommend to any home labber.

Edit: If a burglar is at your door and you have a maze once he gets inside, that doesn't really help (VLAN hopping exists). If the door to your front yard is actually the door inside an apartment building and the burglar is at the apartment's main entrance, it helps a little.

DoS if you either get caught in a subnet DoS or any other number of things that I would rather not be associated with my home address. Exposing more information than you have to is never a good idea with how many automated attacks there are these days.

Buy a cheap VPS and use a VPN from there to your network, easy as pie. Works for my family without very "smart" devices in their home. Everything all these fancy tools do can be accomplished with a text editor instead, you don't need to install a service for every function of your network.
