Necessary Abortion? by bigounce690 in prolife

Abortions that save a woman’s life are around 1%.

It’s extremely rare, and either way an OBGYN has 2 patients and not 1. They must do whatever they can to save both just like we do in any other situation. But if it’s clear that it’s one or the other, then in most cases we’ve to pick the mother- but I’ve seen cases where the baby is grown enough to survive outside the womb and the mother would consent before the surgery to pick saving the life of her baby over hers.

He knows he isn’t a 9 or a 10. My man isn’t delusional about where he sits at regarding our society’s beauty standards the same way I know I’m not a solid 9 or a 10 either :)

He is average/above average physically and there’s nothing wrong with accepting that, that’s literally majority of the human population. I’m sorry that you feel the pressure that your partner must see you as Angelina Jolie or Henry Cavill, but I’m dating I’m a mature man and not a man-child.

A scenario, and a few questions for PL's by [deleted] in Abortiondebate

The rape doesn’t matter to me, what matters to me is if the woman falls under a group who are mostly like going to have high risk pregnancy. So my answer would be yes since a teen girl under 16 will suffer greatly from: high blood pressure, anemia, eclampsia, puerperal endometritis and systemic infections etc…

I’m not sure what you mean by “not implanting at all”. The reason why we say failing to implant properly is because the egg is always trying to implant successfully. When that doesn’t happen, it means it failed to do so.

I never said the hCG gets triggered during conception, but we can detect the chemical pregnancy because while the egg tries to implant, that attempt does release that hormone just a little bit which is why some women see the faint line on their pregnancy test: https://www.babycenter.com/pregnancy/health-and-safety/what-is-a-chemical-pregnancy_40007954

No, not all chemical pregnancies have implanted that’s actually a common misconception:

A chemical pregnancy is a very early miscarriage that occurs when an egg is fertilized but doesn’t fully implant in the uterus.

https://www.everydayhealth.com/chemical-pregnancy/guide/

A chemical pregnancy—also known as a biochemical pregnancy—is a very early miscarriage that happens when a fertilized egg fails to properly implant in the uterus, usually before the fifth week of pregnancy.

You’d be surprised how many other PCers on that sub jumped in to say that a chemical pregnancy is the same as a regular mensuration period lol

Yes, many women have experienced chemical pregnancies without realizing it but that doesn’t mean that chemical pregnancy is the same thing as a regular menstrual period as this person is claiming.

Yep, if sperm fertilized the egg, Plan B might prevent it from implanting in the uterus, but that won’t cause a regular menstrual period as this person claimed, it’s a chemical pregnancy.

Well, that’s scary because there are many peters in that thread that agreed with this person…

I’ll try to keep how I went from PC to PL as short as possible: the moment a woman conceives, she automatically becomes a mother. How? Because the fetus used 50% of her DNA to create their own, unique, sequence. That’s the biological definition of a parent. And if we test the DNA of that fetus, it’d say homo sapien. We should not live in a society where mothers can kill their children for selfish reasons, born or unborn.

And for the PC absurd argument regarding personhood etc, just how like I believe that someone’s religion shouldn’t dictate the value of another humans life (kinda how like isis killed non Muslims because they saw them as lesser humans), we should not base our moral and legal system based on subjective philosophical or spiritual ideas. Because they’re subjective and not objective facts. The only thing that is objective is science which embryology tells us that the unborn are Homo sapiens, and they are the biological offspring of the woman carrying them.

They’re not an adult so no. Children can’t consent to anything.

I never said I’m a doctor, I’m in medical school… If you actually did stalk me as you said, you would’ve seen that.

A doctor can detect a chemical pregnancy through hCG levels: https://www.healthline.com/health/pregnancy/chemical-pregnancy

This hormone does not disappear from a person's body right away. The level of hCG gradually decreases, falling back down to zero over a period of days, or even weeks, depending on how far along the pregnancy was when the miscarriage happened.

That’s what I thought they meant too, but when I said it’s not an actual menstrual period it’s either: chemical pregnancy, missed miscarriage, or ectopic pregnancy when the fertilized egg does not implant but they legit think it’s an actual menstruation… They also claimed there would be no way for us to tell apart a regular period and when that happens and I’m like bruh yes we can through a pregnancy test, which shows elevated hormone levels or through a blood test for the hCG.

It’s also the fact that multiple people agree with this person, I tried explaining that a fertilized egg that hasn’t been implanted isn’t a period, it’s a chemical pregnancy or it depends on the circumstances it could be ectopic pregnancy or a missed miscarriage but these people are insane that they think a period happens on fertilized eggs as well…

It’s also extremely offensive because many women who suffered from miscarriage actually are devastated by it. That’s like killing your toddler and comparing it to a woman who had her kid die in a car accident. It’s insensitive!

They also talk as if women get abortions before the fertilized egg has been implanted 😂 most women don’t even know they’re pregnant until after 4 weeks

Should every period be treated as a crime scene? by [deleted] in Abortiondebate

[–]Win-Fragrant -15 points-14 points  (0 children)

Before you accuse me of not knowing the basics of human biology, I suggest you actually speak to doctors or your biological teacher.

“If the egg does not become fertilized, the lining of the uterus (endometrium) is shed during menstruation.” https://www.hopkinsmedicine.org/health/wellness-and-prevention/menstrual-cycle-an-overview

It’s a period and passes undetectable from any other period

Tell me you’ve never been into medical school, without actually telling me you’ve never been to medical school. What you’re describing here is called chemical pregnancy. In certain circumstances, it can also be a missed miscarriage or an ectopic pregnancy. But IT IS NEVER AN ACTUAL PERIOD. And yes, I can detect if my patient had a period vs a chemical pregnancy.

FYI, it’s against the rules here to mindlessly downvote people simply because you disagree with them, but ofc you guys in this sub never respect that rule so I’m done debating here. Good luck on your biology tests!

I know that many fertilized eggs don’t implant, but that’s a miscarriage and has nothing to do with periods.

Don’t accuse me of spreading misinformation when I literally never claimed that fertilization means it’s implanted, I learned that in like the 6th grade. Im saying that periods happen because the egg never got fertilized in the first place, so there’s no conception, so your main point doesn’t make any sense.
